    Oi, now two things
    1) you are fabulous, and don't talk yourself down - we wouldn't let girls do it, and we won't let you either. Though I will let you off the sparkly hotpants if you ask nicely.
    2) an awful lot of this answer depends on what you're expecting. I don't need a Prince-Fix-Her-Life, but I would like more-than-friends company, someone to drag me outdoors exercising, be around for those times that are awkward living alone (like challenging eejits who steal my parking space and trying to find ceiling joists for potential pole installation) and not moan too much about my cold feet.

i think the only split grip move I do must be Butterfly, in fact I hadn't really considered I can do anything with a split grip until now. I'll swap you a plank for an ayesha :D

Rosa - your oppertunity sounds exciting, and what perfect timing :j(and I used to love Dungeons and Dragons too - did they ever actually get out?)

no they never did get out, the series got cancelled! I bought the DVD last year and looked it up on Wiki, as I couldn't understand why I would have stopped watching it when I loved it so much. Apparently the last series was scripted but never got made. Somebody did an animated version of the script in the 80s but you can see the example online and it's hilariously bad graphics - I had forgotten just how awful computer graphics used to be.

It's a bit like remembering my first Walkman, with carp headphones and the tape whirring noise and the huge gap that was always on one side of the album, and having to carry tapes around... then looking at my smartphone and going 'why did nobody tell me one day I would have this?' :rotfl:

Oh and the other thing I bought around the same time was Robin of Sherwood. It's still marvellous and I still won't watch the last one of series 2 'cos it's too sad :rotfl:. The SFX aren't too bad considering how old it is but Ray Winstone looks practically teenage which is very odd!

I'm sure it's under some Convention as a weapon of mass destruction...

Is this "Fix" as in how a vet "fixes" a dog?

Well that would depend on the exercise...
be around for those times that are awkward living alone (like challenging eejits who steal my parking space

I have to challenge people who park opposite my drive all the time. A rather northern insult fits, but this is a family forum....

They always seem surprised when I pull out and occupy the entire width of the road including the space their car formerly occupied. I think they must think it shrinks when it comes out the gates...
and trying to find ceiling joists for potential pole installation)

That's easy - learn to tap. Does it sound hollow - no joist. Does it sound like there's something there - there's something there!

Practice on one of your dividing walls - they have joists too.
and not moan too much about my cold feet.

And where are you shoving these cold feet?
Ok I dare, though I may regret it... :p

    Now there's a question...

If it's something I've done the most damage with, then it has to be an axe.

If it's something I've been the most creative with, then it's probably rope - but that sounds a bit too much Wonder Woman.

They did get out in one episode, but had to go back. I can't remember why though.
Somebody did an animated version of the script in the 80s but you can see the example online and it's hilariously bad graphics - I had forgotten just how awful computer graphics used to be.

It's was never the technology, but the amount of time (and hence money) you were/are willing to spend.

Godzilla (the one with Jean Reno and Matthew Broderick) has appaulling computer graphics...
It's a bit like remembering my first Walkman, with carp headphones and the tape whirring noise and the huge gap that was always on one side of the album, and having to carry tapes around... then looking at my smartphone and going 'why did nobody tell me one day I would have this?' :rotfl:

The technology for that has been around for many, many years. It was obvious how things were going to progress. Though I suppose I have an advantage in that I'm ancient enough to have been in when many things were just starting out.

I remember when GIF 89a came out, and the "oh it's wonderful" thing at the time.

And then when JPEG came out, and it only took 30 seconds to de-compact a picture and render it on screen (in 256 colours because I was too cheap to buy a 64K colour card - £200 was real money then).

And then MP3 came out, and it only took 4 days to rip an album.

You can already see the future now - if you look.

I was meaning more the boring, patronising Bridget Jones type "woman is completely incapable and worthless while alone, but apparently shouldn't do anything fun or interesting just wait for alleged Prince Charming, her life begins when some man decides to find her uselessness 'klutzy' and hangs around to give her life meaning" rubbish. I can do all sorts of things and by myself thank you - but lots of things are even more fun when shared.

Funnily enough that's what one of the helpful guys in B&Q said, though they have also found me a gadget that apparently helps spot wires and metal and things. No, I didn't tell them what I was planning on installing :rotfl: though maybe I'd have got even more help if I had... :D

The tapping shouldn't be too hard, I've learnt a similar technique for entirely different purposes. (The neighbours probably think I'm nuts already so never mind there.)

Warming them up on somebody else's shins, of course. Though I've now discovered cashmere bedsocks which might make both parties happier the next time I try this.

We're not even discussing Z and his magic rope :rotfl:, or what you might creatively do with one! Axe it is then. A subtle weapon :rotfl:, suits you sir :rotfl:

Unfortunately there's just as many bonkers women out there as men :(. You'll find a fabulous one eventually :grouphug: (possibly two if you take that smilie too literally).

Read the last couple of pages over brekkie this morning, and may now need a new laptop having snorted my cuppa all over the keyboard...

Z and a magic axe (wise choice Rosa!), Rosa tapping (I went straight to tap dancing - despite the fact that I know full well how to find joists, irrespective of my breeding equipment ;) - and had visions of you coming over all spider-pig from the Simpsons film!:rotfl:)

    "spider-pig, spider-pig, does whatever a spider-pig does..."

And Z's right about the SDS drill...and before anyone asks, I have a DIY-tastic Dad. Daughter-dad quality time usually involved putting up shelves etc., or fiddling with the car (which ages me, no doubt - those were the days when you could actually tinker with a car!).

Ooo...Dungeons and Dragons...fab...upset my sister years ago by pointing out that the first proper school picture of my neice had only one pigtail showing and made her look exactly like Venger...boy was I in trouble once she'd looked up the reference!!

And BraveStar...good grief, I'd forgotten all about that! *sigh* ahh, the good old days of dodgy moral-tastic cartoons!

Of course, I was a Dogtanian fan myself....

And for the record, I have no idea what an Ayesha or a Jack knife are in terms of moves...but I'm always rather suprised that I can touch my toes!! ;)

    Have a good'un!

I gave up drilling, the power ran out and I don't know how to charge it :) Have a lovely day everyone xx

Ahhh, but you see, I look a bit like a well-rounded weeble version of my avatar...so science isn't really on my side in terms of being able to bend over and touch my own toes (can't lick my own elbow though...).:rotfl:

On the drill side, the battery usually comes off the drill itself, and slots into some form of charger...or else, do the woman thing and find the instructions. Don't fall at the first hurdle (see what I did there what with it being grand national day...). :D
