the OP wants to know how to reduce steaming up of inside window not how to clean it.

Try gillette or cheap shaving foam - its amazing. Try it on ure bathroom mirror polish it off then have a shower. it will not steam up.

squirt on the inside of the windscreen then buff off.

Condensation on the inside is caused by damp.

I have a 1kg bag of silica gel in the car. I dry it out in the house on a radiator once a week and leave it in the car the rest of the time - makes a huge difference.

I had the advantage of knowing it was caused by damp - I regularly have a soggy doggy in the back!

It does need to be a big bag of silica gel - at least 500g.

You can get colour indicating gel which changes colour between pink and blue when its dry/damp. Which is fine if you have it open to the air - but that's not going to work in a car! So in MSE style, its cheaper to buy standard. You need to find a bag which lets damp through, but which stops the silica gel spilling all over the place - a cotton bag is ideal.

I leave it in the car during the week, and pop it on the radiator at the weekend.
  • I smear the windows with fairy liquid works a treat

  • Steaming up can be caused by a blocked pollen filter. Our Astra used to suffer terribly whenever it rained, but since replacing the pollen filter (it was absolutely sodden and fell apart when removed) the problem vanished.
