It depends which kind of leather the suite you buy is made from, you need to research carefully before you start looking, and make sure you check with the shop about which kind the sofa is actually made from.
I'd echo what some have said and not go for cream/white, I had a friend who had a white leather sofas and you only had to loook at it and it left a mark.

denim colour does transfer onto pale coloured leather
We have this problem but I have recently discovered star drops and the blue came off quite easily.
I think though if you have kids then I'd go for a darker colour.0 -
Reading with interest as I also want a cream leather sofa, I have 2 kids 7 & 3.
I wouldnt buy removable covers again, I bought a 3 & 2 about 5 years ago with 2 sets of covers cream & terracota and at the time you think it's the best decision cos if they get dirty you can wash them right ?
Well the thing is they tend to be in the wash more often than they are on the sofa and the more you wash them the more they fade and they are a !!!!!! to put back on, a job i particularly hated !! Also on ours the zips went several times so the cushions sagged when you sat on them.
Like the other posts on here I recommend checking out carefully what leather you are buying, we have currently got a hand me down from sister in law and it has cracked really badly and looks terrible hence we are looking to get a new one !
Godd luck & if you find a good moneysaving deal let us all knowThe cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.

We have had an Italian leather sofa in black for 7 years now, 3 boys and a labrador who is always on it and it is still looking good, we do treat the leather every couple of months to keep it supple but it is great and I would definately buy one again, although not in cream (have seen many peoples come and go that way).Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0

I bought my first cream leather suite a few months ago and i adore it. I would never go back to a fabric one again. Its easy to clean too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I've got 2 leather sofas and an armchair bought in 1986 and they're still going strong (after dogs and children). Style-wise too they haven't dated, which is fortunate!0

Ours is cream and denim has never left marks on it and after 2years I think it still looks pretty good. Although the backs are starting to sag a little, I have no idea what sort of leather it is, it came from land of leather.0

Ours is Analine leather by the way0 -

Do you use leather cream to nourish yours?
I'm a bit worried because I read conflicting reports about using it on mine (the official advice says you can, but no more than twice a year, but you don't actually have to, it doesn't, technically, need it) the people who make the cream suggest it should be treated with the cream before you even use the sofa!
I am scared to use it incase it changes the colour of the leather as it is very porous.M.A.C.A.W member number 39
