Debenhams - Not fulfilling Orders
Comments

After an e-mail to head office (still no reply) calls to head office by my husband regarding another order that they said they would re-order 3 times and have cancelled each time, we have decided to take our business elsewhere as this has taken up enough of our time.
I will never do business with Debenhams again as this appears to be a long standing sales tactic with them, attract customers in with highly discounted items that they have no intention of honouring with the hope that the customers buy some of their other rubbish items. I wouldn't put it past them to have some sort of process for playing a lottery with customer's orders in order to maximise their profits.
You only have to look at the previous complaints on-line spanning back several years to see they are completely useless at customer service and really don't care.
I predict a company in trouble!0 -
Just got an email update to state they are once again unable to fulfil the order, rubbish, wasted time, effort and money phoning them, so, so annoyed!0

Debenhams have now had my money sat in their account for 9 days. They can't tell me when they'll get around to sending my order, if at all. Their Facebook wall is full of complaints.0

I've just 'phoned Debenhams to enquire about my order after reading this thread.
Apparently, the item I've ordered is OOS  (no email received to confirm this) but they've asked the manufacturer directly if they have any more stock and I should receive my order directly from them. Interesingly, though, I can still order the same item through the Debenhams website.
Luckily, it's only one small item, but it is a Christmas present.
The advisor I spoke to said the Debenhams website wasn't being updated as quickly as it should be. I did tell him that I'd rung to check due to complaints that had been made online.
Oh, and the payment has been taken, I checked my credit card statement online.
We shall wait and see...

I ordered a purse and some toiletries for a birthday present when the 20% code was working and three days later had an email saying my order had 'updated' and below was a table saying that the purse was 'unable to fulfil'. No further explanation. I rang them straight away and my call was terminated twice after five minutes on hold. Finally got hold of someone who said the purse was 'out of stock at the time of order'. Why do they spend millions on these intelligent stock systems if they couldn't tell that? They wouldn't let me cancel the remaining toiletries. The only solution they could offer was for me to ask my friend to refuse the parcel. As if anyone is going to do that! "Happy birthday, but by the way can I have the present back to return it?":mad::mad: Never using Debenhams again.0

I finally received a parcel. Unfortunately 6 of the 8 items were missing with no explanation of why or when/if the other items will follow. How can they get away with taking money for goods they can't supply?!0

Dammit - I ordered some new boots on Monday lunchtime hoping they'd arrive by Saturday - got an order confirmation straight away but no notice of dispatch 48 hours later. Am on hold to the now but don't hold out much hope.0

I ordered a dressing gown in the sale on 22 Nov for delivery to my local store. I received a confirmation email and they have deducted the money from my bank on 23 Nov But I have not received an email telling me it is available for collection. I have just now contacted their customer services by phone an they tell me the item was dispatched from their warehouse on 23 November and that they don't know where it is! They told me to wait until Friday to see if it turns up instore and if not they will put a track on it.0

I am so so annoyed 11 days since placing my order and several phone calls later, I am still without my purchase. Conflicting information doesn't help. I was basically told to go into the store that I chosen for my order to be despatched to and ask them to check their stockroom before they would consider arranging a refund. The customer service is shocking and they have launched yet another Christmas Spectacular. Surely they should sort out their orders from the last time first and stop being so greedy. This has really put me off shopping both in store and online with Debenhams.0
