He's now claiming it was an accident and that he didn't realise the dog was there. All of us who have been unfortunate enough to hit animals with our cars know that there is no way you are not aware something has happened. Nothing about his story rings true at all:

so if it was an 'accident' why dump the dog in a layby and leave the scene hoping not to get found out - lowlife!!

Well, if you beleive what was written in the paper it was because he was 'from Belguim'.

I'd really like to beleive this was a tragic accident, but it just seems too far fetched to me.

I don't believe a word of his story. We are meant to believe that a dog was running free and somehow ran into the road and got caught on his car which he did not notice. He drove dragging the dog along but did not see it in his mirrors or hear it. He thought the car was making a strange noise so he stopped a couple of times and got out to look but supposedly did not go to the back of the car!!! He also did not hear the screams I am sure the poor dog was making!!!

He also did not wonder why people were honking their horns at him and flashing their lights.

So we have a deaf, almost blind, utterly stupid guy driving a porsche!

Strange also that he waits until the next day to go to the police - making up the story, sobering up or both?
