Dr.Who-Who wrote: »Quoia - I would love to be one of the wombles but alas my ASDA is sportless!!! It is very seldom me can find someone else receipt. Also the OAP & the computerless customers knows how to Que for their receipt to be check by the SA @ the entrance which make it worse for us to forage:o
'my' Mr A has a recycling facility at the back of the car park, great when it's windy and the receipts end up in the bushes behind (though I don't half get some odd looks when I emerge from behind a great dumpster) :cool:myalphabetgirls wrote: »Don't forget about me Quoia -
I might not drivel as much as a lot of you but I do post my wombling anecdotes and Im up there with you champions!
This coming year I plan to write down all my wombling successes and tot it up at end of year. I wish I had done it for 2011 but I do believe it has to be near £700, (especially so when Tesco accepted apg also - that was gert lush!).
Don't forget womblers - that many people will be buying shed loads again for new year so the large "carefree and couldn't give a toss how much it all costs" brigade will be out in force the next few days (Friday probably; I plan to take some sandwiches and a flask and sit in Asda car park for a couple of hours lying in wait, lol!) and the receipts will be a-flapping. OH has said he will take dd3 into Bristol's cribbs causeway's Mall to spend her christmas money so I can womble in peace. Awww, my hubbie loves me...
My third Christmas without my angel at home, but we made a decision last year to mix it up a bit and make some new memories. Chloe is still very much a part of our Christmas and I still make her place up at the table, leave a little christmas tree with messages from us as a family and her friends visit her and leave messages too which always touches my heart, but its time to move forward I think. No one could deny that for a mum this has got to be one of the hardest things to do, but Im learning. Hand on heart, this Christmas has been another emotionally challenging one, 3 years on, but I do believe I can see a flickering light. Yes, its definately time to move forward, but she will always, always be in my heart.
Sorry you are not well Aesop, sending hugs x
also wanted to share this little story. Christmas Eve we went for nibbles at a friends' house. Another friend was there who has a daughter, in her 30's now, with special needs. I wondered with trepidation if my youngest, 7, would say something inappropriate, like kids do. They were sat side by side on a sofa, all a bit awkward for a few minutes until my friend's daughter put her arm around mine and cuddled her in. She then started stroking Amelia's head, then tickled her. Amelia giggled and from that moment on they were united by laughter alone and spent the next four hours in each other's company, laughing, colouring in, playing with plasticine and dancing around with glow up wands. No judgments, no pre-conceived ideas, no embarrassment. Forever friends. Was a beautiful thing to witness!
Best wishes everyone whatever their plans this coming week. x
What a good idea about keeping a record of wombling success (goodness, with my NSD, the CCC I've just joined, my usual spend diary and now that I'll have more spreadsheets than an accountant :rotfl:) I do however agree that a thread advertising the fact prob isn't a good idea as I'm not 100% that stores are all that keen on us wombles, even if we are only being paid for our litter picking servcies
MAG, the rest of your post brought a wee tear to my eye. You're right about moving forward and you can do that without ever losing the love and memories. xx Your youngest sounds adorableFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Interesting fact for Gibbs/Ncis fans . . . .
Did you know that Mark Harmon is married to Mork & Mindy star Pam Dawber (of course, she was Mindy) 24 years, not bad for a Hollywood couple. :T :T :T
You's probably all knew that one already.I'd like to teach the World to sing in perfect Harmony:j
