I might not drivel as much as a lot of you but I do post my wombling anecdotes and Im up there with you champions!
This coming year I plan to write down all my wombling successes and tot it up at end of year. I wish I had done it for 2011 but I do believe it has to be near £700, (especially so when Tesco accepted apg also - that was gert lush!).
Don't forget womblers - that many people will be buying shed loads again for new year so the large "carefree and couldn't give a toss how much it all costs" brigade will be out in force the next few days (Friday probably; I plan to take some sandwiches and a flask and sit in Asda car park for a couple of hours lying in wait, lol!) and the receipts will be a-flapping. OH has said he will take dd3 into Bristol's cribbs causeway's Mall to spend her christmas money so I can womble in peace. Awww, my hubbie loves me...
My third Christmas without my angel at home, but we made a decision last year to mix it up a bit and make some new memories. Chloe is still very much a part of our Christmas and I still make her place up at the table, leave a little christmas tree with messages from us as a family and her friends visit her and leave messages too which always touches my heart, but its time to move forward I think. No one could deny that for a mum this has got to be one of the hardest things to do, but Im learning. Hand on heart, this Christmas has been another emotionally challenging one, 3 years on, but I do believe I can see a flickering light. Yes, its definately time to move forward, but she will always, always be in my heart.
Sorry you are not well Aesop, sending hugs x
also wanted to share this little story. Christmas Eve we went for nibbles at a friends' house. Another friend was there who has a daughter, in her 30's now, with special needs. I wondered with trepidation if my youngest, 7, would say something inappropriate, like kids do. They were sat side by side on a sofa, all a bit awkward for a few minutes until my friend's daughter put her arm around mine and cuddled her in. She then started stroking Amelia's head, then tickled her. Amelia giggled and from that moment on they were united by laughter alone and spent the next four hours in each other's company, laughing, colouring in, playing with plasticine and dancing around with glow up wands. No judgments, no pre-conceived ideas, no embarrassment. Forever friends. Was a beautiful thing to witness!
Best wishes everyone whatever their plans this coming week. x
I gotta admit I was a bit choked after reading your post MAGS, but it is great to hear you feel like you might be moving forward a bit.
I decided that it would be great to keep a total of wombling, so I've opened up a thread in the Arms. I hope you and CW don't mind me putting your names down (I'll remove if you do;)). I don't know wether to start the totals from New Years Day (it would include New Years Eve booze receipts wombled (hopefully):D

I've put you on the list. I go around all the trolley parking bays looking for them. I'm sure some of the others will also give advice where to find the receipt from their experience. I bet you will be shocked how it adds up;)Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Not quite got to grips with the APG's yet - I wombled a receipt that turned out to be for £8+ but forgot I had printed it off until after it had expired - but my new motto is 'must try harder':D0 -

Sorry, forgot manners
Afternoon Everyone :hello:
Hope you're feeling better soon Aesop.
MAGS, I was really touched by your post. Christmas can be an especially emotional time when you have lost someone. I still think of my mum and the Christmas's we had together although we lost her 15 years ago. Although the pain has gone, the sadness is still there but in a different, less intense way. We still talk about her whilst having our Christmas dinner and laugh when we remember the things she used to say and do. Hopefully, as time passes, you will also be able to draw on the happier memories to see you through.
I really would like to post one of Jeferey's hugs, but can't remember where to find them (or even how to post them). Help please Jeferey.0 -

NOT sure this is a good idea.
NOT sure "advertising" this means "existing" womblers can be part of "we all win"
If dozens more find out the real value of "our successes" and join in those wonderful bits of paper left in trolleys and fluttering around car parks will become much scarcer for us "old timers"
I don't mind spreading the word about good deals and saving techniques etcetera to others PROVIDING IT DOESN'T affect the APGs in MY POCKET
A few scattered posts across a selection of "unrelated" or anonymous threads is one thing ....
.... BUT a SPECIFIC thread with ALL THE NITTY GRITTY in one place :eek:
NEXT THING it will be IN THE NEWSLETTER :eek: :eek: :eek:
THEN MARTIN WILL BE TALKING ABOUT IT ON THE TELLY
:eek::eek: :eek::eek: :eek::eek: :eek::eek: :eek::eek: :eek::eek: :eek::eek:
Hope I will soon wake up from this NIGHTMARE I'M HAVING
