Most of the ebay bids have just finished and have made £38.51. Not to be sneezed at, but a bit disappointing as a few really lovely items went for 99p and I was expecting a few other to go for quite a bit more. I can't figure out ebay sometimes. Nevermind, it's all money coming in and stuff we don't need going out.

I still have a few BIN's active, but there's no interest on those so I'm doubtful they'll sell.

I think I'm going to give ebay a bit of a rest for a little while once these are done. Although saying that, I've promised MIL I'd ebay a bag load of clothes for her so I best get on with that tonight!

    Hello!

Brill news on the (lack of) overdraft and overpayments to the CC.

Yes, you can definitely have too much of a good thing and ebay is no different. My annoying buyer left me some nice feedback. It was carefully worded actually so that I knew what he was getting at but anyone else would take it at face value. He doesn't allow his feedback to be published which I hadn't come across before.

Well I'm home from my long weekend away. I have wanted a few things which would require courier deliveries so I scheduled them all to arrive tomorrow so at least it only involves staying in for one day to sign for them. I have returned to many "You were out when we called" cards, most of which have got to the final delivery option so I'm not sure what, if anything, will arrive tomorrow. I will not be best pleased about anything that doesn't because these are things where I specifically asked the shops in advance whether they could guarantee delivery on Weds 27th and they said yes. Grrrrr

I think it was quite a cheap weekend away. I haven't logged into online banking for a week so I'll check the money situation tomorrow. I want to sort out all the one off move related costs before the end of the week, when I get paid, so I can start with a clean slate next month and see how much money I have to spend in a normal month.

PS I never knew there were so many things you could buy for teething! I hope DS is more comfortable.

  • How annoying about your deliveries, chocs. I hope you get it sorted with the minimum of hassle. We have had trouble with one carrier more than others in the past who, I believe, are known for their terrible customer service. If we're not in, they like to throw parcels over our side gate, no matter what the weather's like or how fragile the parcel is!

I received the main one late this afternoon. To be honest, I was fortunate it came at all because most carriers won't redeliver 4 times. And then the kind driver offered to carry it up to my flat because the box was heavy. Perhaps not realising just how many stairs there were! I was extremely grateful.

I will have to wait in on Saturday for another item which is annoying but it is something I have wanted for ages so as long as it does arrive, I will be happy.

I'm debating whether to finish my spending spree with a new CD player. Again, it is something I have wanted for ages. I have found a really good CD microsystem for £300 so may bite the bullet and order it. I have £200 from recent ebaying and I'm sure I'll make up the rest over the next month.

And then that is definitely it for big purchases for a while!

How lovely of the delivery driver to carry it to your flat for you. It's not often they offer to do such things here, I'm lucky if items even make it to our front door sometimes!

As for the cd player, go for it! You're 2/3 there with eBay sales anyway and it's not something you'll need to replace one you have it. Call it an investment!

I don't know what it is with eBay lately, but I'm having yet more problem buyers. One has emailed me to say they don't want the item they bid on anymore (even though it was sold for 99p and minimum postage). They've 'instructed' me to cancel the auction, no 'please', 'thank you' or 'apologies'. Two more have yet to pay for items sold days ago, one was the highest value of the lot too which is frustrating.

I listed a pushchair on eBay last night, one that was kept at my parents for when we visited but we rarely used it. We'll see how that does. It's £15 to send via courier and has bids of £15 already so not a bad start. I've also re-listed 3 items that haven't previously sold.

I need to get some groceries today, so a trip to aldi is on the cards as well as a trip to morrisons to see if they have any of the pampers nappies on offer still as it sounds like a very good deal. I can also put some dry cleaning in to be done there whilst we're going as it's the cheapest place I know for it.

Hopefully Ds and I can then go for a long walk, but the weather is looking iffy at the moment.

Just catching up with the credit cards whilst Ds is napping. Halifax card now closed down and credit of under £10 being sent out to me by cheque. Barclaycard BT card balance was at £2315.25; just paid off £75.25, so remaining balance now at £2240. Will concentrate on the £240 first...

We managed to find some of the bargain buy nappies in stock at morrisons today, so bought 6 packs to stock up as was nearly at the end of supplies from the last bulk buy bargain we found.

They had some real baby bargains there so also bought a travel booster seat/high chair thing for £12. We had been planning to get one of these for a while but cheapest price we could find was £24+.
Also bought a travel potty for £5 (again, much cheaper than elsewhere) and some of the inserts for it for £2. Spent £44 with some rinse aid and peppers thrown in too, but got a lot for our money.

We then went to aldi and stocked up on tinned goods, fresh produce, milk etc and spent £25 on a trolley full. I'm always pleasantly surprised by how far our money goes at aldi.

This afternoon I've double checked my p60 vs tax credit (not entitled to any more!), and have done some more washing and drying. I've also tried to set up a standing order to our Ds's junior ISA as we'd like to put a little away for him every month, but the passbook is worded such that it's not clear which is the account number. I'll have another look at that tonight.

Tonight is also dedicated to listing MIL's stuff on eBay and tackling the ironing. What an exciting life I lead!

Bids on pushchair are up to £67! Totally unexpected so early on in the auction. I'll be surprised if it goes much higher than that though.

I haven't managed to get MIL's eBay stuff listed yet tonight, but the ironing is done which is a big plus in my book! I may leave the eBay stuff until the weekend now.

I've set up the standing order to Ds's account. It's only £20 a month but it's affordable for now and we feel important to save for him.

I feel for you with the Ebayers. The feedback system has its merits but can also hold sellers to ransom when really it is appropriate to ask the buyer to be reasonable.

I feel I should email them to point out that bids are binding in an auction. It says that when they make a bid. There are no grounds to demand the sale is cancelled.

I know really it is better to just let it go because it will only upset me further and the "buyer" probably won't care. Also, I offer refunds so it would be self-defeating to force them into buying.

I hope you got through listing your MIL's stuff. Very good of you to offer. Do you get to deal with all the buyer's too or are you just doing the listings and putting them on her account?

I ordered the stereo. And some Liz Earle stuff. And that really is it!
