Tesco Lack of Customer Service

Options
Whilst shopping Saturday morning in a Tesco Store (8 miles away) I bought some own make tortilla wraps, went to use them on the kids sandwiches yesterday and they were all stuck together (at a guess not enough flour) and every single one in 2 packs tore and were unusable.
Today I phoned Tesco Customer services to complain and was told they could not take a complaint over the phone but I need to return them to store (already outside in the bin although I did take pictures of the state of them)thus costing 4 times the products worth in petrol!
How stupid is that? If they want them back they could at least pay for them to get there!
Think I may return to shopping at Sainsburys!
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

I had that happen last time I bought some of Tesco own tortilla wraps, every one was stuck together but I just managed to tear biggish bits off and made do as they were - added to the fun!

  • No biggish bits for me, lots of small bits and the kids fillings would have fallen out!

  • next time call their freephone customer service - I think it is 0800 505555

explain you have problem with product and it is not convenient to get to store - they usually like some codes and details from packaging

    sorry but i dont understand?
if you were complaining what did you want as a result??
a refund? cos you have to go to the store to do that
how can they refund you over the phone

why should you expect tesco to pay for your petrol to return the goods to the store.
if you are going for a refund then you would have to drive there anyway

same here, we have stopped buying tesco wraps. Usually get them from Aldi or Sainsburys

  • I know this is a money saving site and all, but if you buy 'own make' brands, usually some parts of the quality are questionable. Could you not have sprinkled some flour on to seperate them?
I also don't get why anyone would call a number just to moan about something as small as this - why not wait until the next time you are in the store? Or write it off to experience and not buy them again?

Microwave them for 10 secs or so and they'll come apart easily. ;)
