My Mortgage Free Dream - Boogie-ing through the 70's

The time has come for a new diary! I started my mortgage free journey just over a year ago, and can honestly say I have become addicted along the way. Despite the uncertainties of life throwing themselves in our faces, we have coped very well this year and are thankfully in a better financial position than we were this time last year. We're still skint but there's no debt this time and now we have a fresher outlook and better idea of budgeting.
My old diary can be read here if you're interested.
The aim of this diary will be to see us through the 70's. As of today we stand at £78,255.13. I wont be counting savings in this diary, nor will I be offsetting savings against the mortgage figure. Why? Purely because we're still going to want to have a life and hopefully the oddd holiday along the way and we realistically can't plough everything into the mortgage and not save.
I'd like to see the back of the 70's by the end of 2012, but I think it may be a few months after that by looking at the spreadsheet. By overpaying an approx of £300 per month which equates to the good old £10 per day, this is very achievable should we work hard enough at it.

Todays money making schemes have brought me a £5 HMV and £2 Amazon vouchers in the form of competition wins. I've used the £5 HMV to get dd2 a stoking filler DVD and will save the £2 Amazon for when it's needed.0

I managed to get 7 items on Ebay last night, and so far this morning I have done a £2.50 survey. Sadly not cash but vouchers, still it all helps. Pay day on Weds and hoping to make an OP then.
Pre empted the pay day and sent an overpayment this morning of £35.42 which makes the balance on my spreadsheet sit nicely at £78,000 when December 1st's regular payment has gone out. This came from an extra shift I worked in November.
I can start December with the next £1k to tackle. I think in £1k bursts it'll be more achievable and targets will be reached quicker.0 -

I'm still around, just not posting a lot at mo. Very busy with xmas and organising money trying to stop it flowing out of the bank account. Have managed a very small OP of £15 lately, hardly worth shouting about.
Have a merry xmas everyone and I'll see you all soon x0
