limited or no connectivity??

i have aol,netgear router,and netgear usb adapter,i have set everything ok i can see my network name in the list ,i try to connect and it says limited or no connectivity,does anyone know what i have done wrong please???

    I think its an aol thing, i assume it works?

    is it a usb modem?

    i have a new netgear router that they sent me.

    does anyone have a aol wireless network working with a router that aol have sent?

    At a guess i would sugest that the dhcp part of the router isn't assigning you an ip address correctly. You could manually add one to your pc.

    Ie. If the ip address of the router is 192.168.1.1 then put a manual ip address on your network adapter of 192.168.1.2 you'll probably find that would clear the message.

    no its not usb its ethernet.

    aol use screen names and you make up your own wep key

    try my sugestion above, also before you add a manual address you could go to the command prompt type ipconfig -release wait for it to come up with the cursor again and type ipconfig -renew this will (in therory) re assign you an ip from the router

    yes i have it attached to connect my main pc,but i would like to connect my lappy wirelessly.
