  • If anyone would like proof that clean, healthy children smell, I'd walk into any junior school classroom when the children come in after their lunch break.

When DD1 was in Y5, her teacher used to spray air freshener in her classroom and at the beginning of the Summer term, actually asked the children to consider wearing deodorant. There were mixed views about this request, a couple of parents thought she was overstepping her jurisdiction as their teacher, but it could only have been because the smell was unbearable. It also encouraged some children, who clearly needed to wear deodorant but who either ignored their parents or it wasn't encouraged at home, to up their personal hygiene in consideration for other people.

I second the Bionsen deodorant. It comes in roll on or spray, you can get it in any Tescos and it's only about £2. It's the best natural deodorant I've used along with being the cheapest and most convenient to buy.

Additionally it might be an idea to give her a travel pack of baby wipes that she can use to freshen up when necessary.
  • I like the 'Crystal Spring' brand solid crystal deo, too. http://www.crystalspring.co.uk/natural-deodorants-c-21.html It seems to last better than PitRok, but I think that's because all the P.Roks we've had have come away from their base and been dropped on the floor!

(Personally, I try to avoid 'parabens' in any product I stick directly on my skin.)
