Yes, that's true, though they may just look at the area where you live out of interest, and may pass some sort of comment such as "you live in a posh area/you've come far/my brother-in-law is from there" etc. etc. Since most places only accept either driving licence or passport as ID, I use the one with less information (i.e.passport), even though it's bigger and more inconvenient to carry than the driving licence photocard!
So my passport looks a little battered, while my driving licence photocard looks as good as new!0 -

Driving licence or passport, strictly nothing else.I use my passport as ID, as I don't like using my driving license as ID, since that has my address on it, and I don't see why I should show the bouncer where I live.
I used to note addresses if I thought someone could be trouble, came in handy once or twice.0
