However I suspect most bars and pubs would only accept Drivers Licence and Passport anyway.0 -
A lot of places will only accept a full driving licence or a passport as acceptable forms of ID. Others will accept a photographic student card (as long as it as a DOB on it) or a PASS card such as the Citizen Card. Really the best thing to do is have either a full driving licence or a passport as those are universally accepted.0

thanks for the reply,s our older daughter used proof gb their websiye no longer available so i would rather try else were.she never had a problem with it.

I use a Citizencard with a PASS logo as posted by Lokolo and have never had any problems.
I don't have a driving licence (full or provisional) due to health reasons and I hate taking my passport out.0 -
Most places here only accept a passport or driving licence. I do have a PASS id card thingy and tried out using it a couple of times when I had to change the address on my licence. 2/3 times I'd say it was rejected. They're pretty militant about ID here though, I hadn't been asked in about 2 years to show some before I came here. At the end of the day, the cost of replacing the licence isn't that high and, other than for id its not required on a day to day basis.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

Here's another vote for just taking out the driving licence.
Whilst quite a few places say that they accept citizencards and the like, the high staff turnover (the last UK pub I worked in saw anything less than 100% annual staff turnover as cause for celebration) and generally poor staff training means that it is not unlikely that they will be turned away by staff / bouncers. Whilst working as one of more experienced members of bar staff at the above pub, I had to stop new members of staff turning away unfortunate members of the public with such cards.
Driving licences and passports are the only reliably accepted ID. Most people just take out their driving licences, given that it fits in a wallet and you're pretty unlikely to lose them (and even if she did, it's highly likely that it will be handed in to the bar and she can get it back - I lost count of how many times I returned lost ID to people). And if worst comes to worst, a replacement is only £20 - not much more than a citizencard etc.0 -
as a personal license holder i only accept passport or drivers license..(/(/
