lookin' better
this may make your side-by-side results closer. Keep an eye on it and see how it goes, don't change routers. Just remember speedtest results are subject to fluctuation for many reasons, including your ISP's capacity at your exchange, or any seemingly minor differences between software loads on two laptops
spybot - my advice would be forget it, I tested the current version recently and they seem to have wrecked it. Stick with avast or avira a/v, and malwarebytes as a secondary scanner

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Thanks gunjack.. I will do as you say, monitor it, my ISP, AOL, not the best, but been with them years. out of contract now, deciding whether to renew and give them my BT line?????? always been wary of letting go of BT line to all in one ;TT now, even though I would be saving a fair bit of money;;;;;They,ve offered new router in with package, my speedtouch was from them originally, now they say they don, t support it;;; too old;;any suggestions? I thought you would be anti-spybot, i,m sticking with avast.:beer:Thanks again for your advice.lookin' better

it's not that I'm anti-spybot per se, there were/are some useful features in it. However, the newest version seems to have dispensed with some of the features and has introduced a user intrface which helps no-one at all :mad:
AOL are part of TT anyways, and pretty much any LLU service will be better than a BT-based IPStream service, especially if you get them to turn off the DLM

Heard a lot of bad stories about people trying to get back with BT if they decide to give thier line rental to tt.
Speed crap today;;; several tests since yesterday;; all down to as low as 0.3;0.4;;;highest today so far, all different times of day is 3.1 mostly sub 2.0. do you think something on pc is slowing it down?
All a/v,s;malwarebytes; spybot; all show clean;;;
Since changing 11b/g to g yesterday.;;when I logged on this morning, it tried to connect to net via btfon, which I presume is a neighbour on bt, then it found mine ok.;; never noticed it before. is it anything to do with fixing on g?? signal strength 48mbs excellent;;just ran test again 1.2; 0.7;0.9;0.7. ps. what,s DLM? I presume it,s BT,s ? I only use BT for line.; no phone calls,bb. they are all with aol/tt0
