ING Direct Mortgages - Flexible Variable Rate?

Just an update for you all!!! My last letter to ING was a letter saying that I've lost all trust for the re-mortgaging staff and that I would like to stop my application. I have asked though for £120 compensation which is the rough amount I've calculated is the difference between the SVR I've been paying and the ING variable rate. Obviously I've had to to and fro with verified letters from my existing mortgage company to show what the SVR is etc.
I'll keep you informed until the saga ends one way or another (I've also said that I'll forward my complaint and claim to the Ombudsmen if not dealt satisfactorily).
Till then,

rate is currently 5.64%? so gone up quite a bit since it started.
i went for the woolwich one which is also 5.68% and will always be .18% above base rate. took about a month to do it all, very simple. am impressed,
and never have to remortgage again0 -
I got a reply from ING about my complaint and request for compensation. RESULT thankfully! I got the difference between my current variable mortgage rate and the rate I wouldn't gone to if the process was completed on time.
Unfortuanetly they have lost a certified copy of my marriage certificate which was sent to alter the title deeds of my wifes name...... so I'll probably have a headache and seek compensation with them also. I have to go through to ING's solicitors directly and not ING themselves.

We used ING for a remortgage and everything went through very quickly and completed on the agreed date.
Their online tracker thingy is excellent. You know exactly where you're up to.

Same here. And even at 5.64%, still competitive with no tie-ins etc.:j0

I am in the process of opening one of these mortgages, does this mean i can log into an online account to check my balance and maybe make payments, or do you mean i can check the progress of the account opening only?Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0 -

Both -
1) follow each stage and progress of application
2) Check balance once open and issued pin (extra payments min £1k by phone to capital)0 -
We're not impressed with ING Direct at all.
We went to them for a re-mortgage and using the online tracker saw offer, salary checks, valuation etc all ok. The last I saw was redemption requested and then they stopped the application without even telling us they had done so, or the reason why.
We only found out that they had stopped the application when we rang them to ask why we could no longer trace the application online. They wouldn't even give us a reason why.
If we hadn't called we would have just been left hanging! :mad:0 -
I've just applied tonight. Didn't take long at all and seemed straight forward enough. Just need to forward proof of earnings but it didn't say what...one monthly pay slip? three monthly pay slips? Last years P60? How many/what did others send?0
