Today upon checking my bank account I too found that I had a £10 charge from Complete Savings.co.uk...

... I have been paying this since Dec 2011, I should be getting 14 months refunded.

    What can I do?

I'm not trying to embarrass you or come across as patronising, but I'd certainly recommend checking your bank account more than once every 14 months.
Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.

Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I just purchased something from TheHut.com and was then asked whether I wanted to join the "Complete Savings" scheme. I've never heard of them before.

It also says in the fine print that Complete Savings is owned and operated by the Webloyalty group of companies.

I was briefly tempted to do the sign up and cancel before the 30 days is up, but reading the fine print, it seems a faff to actually claim the cash back (sending off a sales receipt) and so like most cash back schemes, doubtful as to whether you actually get the cash back. So I decided not to risk it, as sometimes these things can be difficult to cancel and enough people already have my card details!

Has anyone else heard of this scheme? Reading t'internet they seem to have some bad press, but it is mostly in the States. Scam? Genuine cashback scheme? :undecided

NOT sure how to reply but here goes.

I noticed that I had paid complete savings £150 over 15 months.Didnt know anything about it-contacted them 1st march 2013-they gave me back £30 then and I sent them a downloaded form for the rest-Pleased to say that this morning 14/03/13 I received the remaining £120-so if its u contact them and complain vigourously

Are RedSave anything to do with Webloyalty or Complete Savings?

Reading the article provided, I cannot see any connection and obviously the clearly unscrupulous dealings of the miscreant behind Redsave amount to fraud as has been established in court on numerous occasions apparently.

There is however a difference between Webloyalty and Redsave, as the article attached tells how RedSave buried the costs in the small print, whereas with webloyalty/complete savings I have yet to see anything that shows me how they hide their monthly fee?

I joined another one of their schemes recently, providing Gourmet Society membership, discounted Cinema tickets and discounts on TicketMaster (just saved over £40 on Walking with Dinosaurs tickets!!). Again, the splash screen inviting me to join, after a Play.com purchase, was very clear about it being a 30day free trial, thereafter £10 per month, can cancel any time.....

Not exactly buried in the t&cs. I still maintain anyone saying otherwise is clearly denying the truth and claiming mock offence to hide their own foolishness for forgetting they had signed up, or just being plain stupid for not reading what they were putting their cc details in for!
  • I never registered with them my debit card. They are using an email address I have never used!! I have never had anything to do with them but they managed to charge my debit card £10 and would have carried on every month. I don't know who they are. I contacted the police in the UK who obviously have been contacted before .....
  • I just noticed that somehow Complete Savings has been charging me £10 a month for three months since I bought a ticket from Wizz Air, when I stupidly registered for a voucher for £10 or £15 off my next flight. I'm not particularly daft, but I have no recollection of being told it was a subscription, or entering my credit card details separately to buying the ticket. When I realised I was being billed I rang their customer line (0800 389 6960) and spoke to some american-sounding woman with bad attitude who briefly tried the terms and conditions argument, tried arguing that I must've signed up separately and given my credit card details blah blah, to which I said I did not and I want my money back. And hey presto, she just immediately agreed to refund my credit card. Funny that.
  • Hi

Complete Savings has asked us to post on its behalf.

MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the Forum.

    Hello Forum Members:

Unfortunately there is a lot of incorrect information about Complete Savings online and as a result, a number of comments posted here on this forum also contain incorrect information. We'd like to take this opportunity to correct that information about Complete Savings.

First, the Complete Savings programme did not replace Shopper Discounts & Rewards and both are active programmes. Complete Savings and Shopper Discounts & Rewards are two of Webloyalty's membership programmes for people who shop online regularly and they provide members with online discounts and cashback deals. Shopper Discounts & Rewards also includes shopping and delivery guarantees.

Second, it is not possible to be registered for Complete Savings based on data from a previous online transaction or by simply ticking a box. People are offered the opportunity to join Complete Savings after completing a purchase at one of our online retail partner’s websites. All prospective members must manually enter the following details into the online Complete Savings membership sign up page: their name, email address, postal address and their credit or debit card details. This sign up page clearly states there is a monthly fee – in fact there are at least four references to it, including one in bold at the top of the page. After entering these details on the sign up page, the prospective member must also create a personalised password and then click on a "YES" button to acknowledge they have read and agree to the membership Terms and Conditions and the Offer and Billing details which are clearly stated in text adjacent to the "YES" button. We email new members five emails in their first month of their membership to promote the benefits available to them and to remind them about billing. After this, they are then emailed monthly. Members can easily cancel at any time by contacting our customer service centre.

Third, when forum members posted comments in support of Complete Savings on this thread, there were several instances where other forum members accused them of being Complete Savings employees. Please be assured that Complete Savings has never falsely represented themselves on this forum and the comments posted in support of Complete Savings are not by any of our employees. Complete Savings respects and follows the MSE forum rule that does not allow companies to post comments on the forum unless it is with clear disclosure and with the forum administrator's approval. This is in line with UK legislation (the Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regulations 2008).

We will be happy to assist MSE forum members with their queries about Complete Savings. However, it's difficult to do that in a public forum when we don't know who you are and are not able to identify your Complete Savings membership record. If you have a query about Complete Savings and would like our assistance, please contact our customer service centre on 0800 389 6960 or at customerservice@completesavings.co.uk. Alternatively, you can contact me directly at mary@completesavings.co.uk.

    Kind regards,

In October 2011 I ordered some train tickets from trainline and I was asked if I wanted £10 off my next ticket. So I agreed thinking it was part of trainline.
From 25 November 2011, until 16 June 2013, the company Shopper Discounts and Rewards, has debited £10 every month from my credit card ,small amounts that pass unnoticed in my bank statements.
It appears that I am said to have signed up to this monthly debit at some point and am now a "member". I would not knowingly have done so and, so far as I am concerned, I have not. I have certainly not knowingly authorised the £10 monthly debit from my card account.

I contacted them by email and phone and this was their answer,
This email is confirmation that your membership with Shopper Discounts & Rewards has been cancelled as of the 20th June 2013.
Unfortunately we cannot process any refund as you successfully claimed the £15 cash back cheque. This cheque was processed towards the end of September 2011.
Your cancel confirmation number is: 32602455

What should I do in order to them refund all my money

It always amazes me how these £10 debits on a statement are missed every month!!!!
  • I purchased coach tickets from National Express and it would appear they have given this company my credit card details and they have been fleecing my CC account of £10 a month for 6 months - #Notveryhappy
  • I booked tickets using the trainline.com and had an option to receive a voucher for money off my next purchase with them. In the past I haven't bothered, but today I thought I would try it. I clicked on and then got an email from completesavings and at the bottom of the email it said that after 17th dec 2013 they would be debiting my card £10 a month. A: I didn't give permission for them to have my card details, B: trainline didn't make it clear that the voucher was with a separate company and therefore passed my card details on without my consent and C: nowhere on the voucher did it mention I would be charged £10 per month via another company. I read the voucher very carefully. I have emailed completesavings and asked them to remove my details and to never ever charge me and mentioned the fact that they were mis selling. I also emailed trainline and told them the same and suggested that they consider if they want to be associated with this company as if they carry on like they at, with a voucher suggesting it is from their own company, they risk loosing custom. If I don't her back from either with a satisfactory response, I will be contacting trading standards and Watchdog...I may do that anyway as I believe I have been misold and had I not read all the way down the email, I would not have known they were going to take £10 a month off me, until I checked my bank statement. Trainline are just as much to blame for the mis selling.
