Spent £45 on food shopping yesterday. Can't say there was a great deal of meat, just a chicken but I do have pork and beef in freezer, we live on chicken so I suppose it suits.
Have a made at least £25 on eBay so far with some stuff with watchers. Here's hoping they have a mini bidding war
Picked up packet of peas, parsnip and carrot seeds for 39p each from Aldi. Am really looming forward to getting stuck into my veggie patch this year. Was too late and didn't look after it last yearcan't wait for my home grown courgettes
Not sure if I can be bothered to grow any sweet peppers this year. I had an excellent crop but I like them red and without a greenhouse they just took forever to ripen. Not grown parsnips before so hope they are easy as carrots.
Not much else going on. the decluttering process STILL continuesI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

We are looking at making raised beds for vegetables this year. We are trying to source some cheap wood and need to plant some seeds. Needs must as OH being made redundant............
I would like to grow raspberries and blackcurrants too. I have rubarb and gooseberries that I planted last year. Roll on Spring.

I treated myself to some raspberry canes a couple of years ago. The number of fruit so far wouldn't fill half a punnet  not sure how to look after them, seem terribly complicated things
:o
Gintot sorry to hear about OH being made redundant. Will you guys manage ok?
So now income goes down we find new ways of spending money
We have noticed that DS is visibly less stressed in a morning when he sleeps in our bed with us. So why not get a dog with a view to it eventually sleeping in or on his bed. I've wanted one for a while and think kids would get a lot out of it. So deposit put down on a Labrador puppy today  for some strange reason I feel terribly grown up having my own dog. Not with having my own children but a pet :rotfl: it seems life does indeed come full circle. The kids are similar ages to me and my brother when we went to see our first dogfunny how life seems to repeat itself.

Hi Bitsey
Well done on selling on e-bay. Might have a go myself but don't know what I would have to sell.
Getting a dog too! Mmmmm I love labs-my friend had one and he loved DH to bits.
Well OH is into his 90 day consultation period-4th week and we know nooothing. So there will be belt tightening. Our house insurance is up for renewal and I am trying to get the best price. I will look at cashback sites but don't really understand them. OH's car is up for it's first service now it's 2 years old this month and my car insurance is due. May have to sell mine....
Oh well....we just need some info about what's happening.
Anyway here I am beside you on the brassic bench, shuffling my feet.
Have a good day and looking forward to seeing pictures of the pup.
Oh and by the way are you coming to the Bristol meet?

cash back sites are pretty simple Gintot, basically you sign up (topcashback is free, Quidco takes your first £5) and you enter the retailer you want via the cash back site. Depending on what you are buying you get a % of cash back, some retailers are quicker than others. I am no expert though but in my limited use have found it fairly simple to use.
Got some unexpected news in post today. DLA has been awarded for DS. At a much bigger figure than I anticipated. Am gobsmacked quite frankly as I didn't think they would consider us for middle or higher rate.
Am sure feeling abundance within my lifeI am one lucky girl.

SOOO looking forward to puppy pics!;)
Meanwhile... I have a new dog-sitting booking, for a "greyhound/lurcher" called Dylan. Can't wait!!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

:oSo
Bitsy, there 2 type's of raspberrie's, summer fruiting and autum friuting, summer fruiting are the slightly harder to get right growing wise, the new cane's/shoot's that grow this year are next year's fruit bearer's, and when it's going right these type's give the most fruit, autum fruiting are easer to grow in that they fruit on the cane's that come up this year, hth.£71.93/ £180.000 -

they are summer fruiting ones which might explain why I am struggling
Will it do any harm if I just left them alone? or am I supposed to cut down last years canes that fruited (assuming I can remember which ones)
