  • Ooh it's so wild up here! Half our fence has blown down and some of the neighbours' as well. Just hope the big trees withstand the gusts. This is definitely the biggest storm I've seen up in Scotland for a few years. Just a warning - if you have a trampoline, try and anchor it or tie it t o a tree. Stay safe everyone.

The wind has bent the TV ariel on the roof across the street and it's blowing about. I'm just waiting for it to break free and land on someone walking past.

Personally I'm hoping for an M&S glitch on their fizzy alcofrolic drinks. Loving the Cosmo Fizz and Pink Fizz but the best offer I've seen so far is £4.49 each or 2 for £8. Need to stock up and it's too easy to drink more than one glass.

I love that cosmo fizz, got 4 bottles in the fridge now:T

Anyone still got a leg of lamb in the freezer from DTD days ?

Similar legs are "on offer" at the moment.

We had huge evergreen trees (think 3 storeys high) in our garden and my mum's nerves got so frazzled in the horrible 1991 storm that hit the south, she spent all night worrying that one was going to go crashing down across the busy A360, not to mention that my gran lived on the other side of the road directly opposite the trees!

Luckily all was ok, the top of one snapped slightly and bent towards our garden, after that we had them lopped down to half height!

Hope everyone in Scotland stays safe, if you are in an old house with single pane glass for god's sake put masking tape on them, draw the curtains or stay well away! Tesco can only stock so many plasters xxx

Our trampoline is well and truly secured with slabs of stone on top of the bottom part.
I did however have a battle earlier on this morning to dismantle my wee plastic greenhouse (not so wee you can walk in to it). Thought I had got everything out of it and was in the process of putting it in the shed when what I thought was a bit of muck flew off a plastic tray and hit me on the side of the face. No muck, when I went in the house to check and try and wring out my clothes I realised it was a slug:eek:
Totally grossed out, and after much scrubbing of my face I went back out to finish clearing away stuff and my next door neighbour came out moaning about my hut door banging, I said I know I was just in the house pealing a slug off my face!!! He must of thought I was mental.:rotfl:

Okay so I'm just not catching the grip with this dam pricecheck carry on! I submitted a receipt last night and it's come back as nil, except it clearly shows the following items price checked v's Asda.
    1x Tesco strawberry milkshake mix Tesco = £1.49 Asda = £1.38.
    1x Andrex washlet tub Tesco = £1.94 Asda = £1.22.

Now I know the JTD isn't huge but this is a JTD right? Or am I missing something so obvious?
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

Getting wilder in D&G now too - have made a big pot of lentil soup and have hunted the candles out for the inevitable blackout that's bound to happen soon seeing as the lights have flickered for the last 2 hours.
