Well said. That was his 1st post on the thread and lots of people thanked it and some including regulars went on to advocate it...shame on them. It's theft pure and simple.

please could you explain your reasons as to why you think it is theft?

also - when Ts overcharge you for an item - or any other company for that matter - this would be counted as theft also...???

i think you are refering to 'obtaining goods by deception' which is a scetion in The Theft Act - therefore if you would like to refer to my previous post regarding other ways of Obtaining goods by deception - ...... may make you see things a little clearer..?

Got a nice little DTD on 4 packs of riverway sausages today, whilst at CS waiting for them to sort it out the lovely CS assistant said i was the third person that day that she had to give DTD to on the sausages, so i said why don't they do something about it then her reply was "our manager has said that overall we will make more money leaving them as they are as not every one looks at their receipt" and this came from the horses mouth so to speak. I said if i had known i was going to get DTD i would have picked up more - her reply was make sure you do next time you see these sausages as we are always paying out on them and maybe that will teach "him" to get his pricing team sorted out!!!

And people wonder why we go for DTD:p:p:p

i thank posts so that i know where i'm up to, otherwise i would never know where i am!!

for me thanking posts is for the contribution to this thread, making mr t's minions read through all the waffle to get to the glitches.

as for the rights and wrongs, each to their own moral compass

would not ever tamper with a price label myself, what the heck for ?
just a matter of being patient and waiting for the next glitch to come up, obtaining WITHOUT getting any attention..unless its from a fit SA :D
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

Locarr was referring to the newbie who on all 3 of his posts mentioned tampering with barcodes to get the item cheaper.

Earlier I posted this as although my conscience told me this was wrong, I wanted to confirm the legal view of this:

    (Quote)
A quick google shows that tampering with labels is classed as retail theft:

    Retail Theft
"...Statute 3929(a) defines retail theft as the taking of any merchandise without paying the full retail value required. This can include actually removing merchandise from the store, changing or removing labels and price tags or tampering with security tags. Retail theft is graded in 3929(b) based on ..."

Don't do it guys. It ain't worth it.
