if an item i want that's on offer/got a voucher for is out of stock, if you ask at customer service/happen to see a manager on the shop floor, it's worth asking if you can have a similar item for the same price. have done this since the time at mr s when i asked a manager i happened to see, if there were any of the item out the back - he checked for me and on finding there weren't, he offered me another similar item for the same offer price. depends who you get as to whether they allow it, and i only ask for one of the item, as i feel i'm more likely to be successful that way!

I know myself, that on one occasion, the underneath barcode was visable.. just slightly, as the sticker hadnt covered it properly - so i will admit, i put my finger over the stickered barcode and scanned the little bit that was sticking out underneath..... - i would not make a habbit of it - but it could have happened if i had scanned it anyway.

It is not actually illegal (been in retail 20 years at all levels0 and I am not going in to the ins and out of it as it has been said many times before.... You will find that the retailer would be in more trouble pricing up and charging you for an item higher than it is already marked at than you would be for peeling off a label.
I don't advocate it either, but just because some on a message board says it is illegal it doesn't make it fact.0
