i know this peeling barcodes off is wrong ! but most dont have them so its a good chance to grab a bargain! and if you fancy another bargain grab this while you can..

Panasonic dvd recorder model no. dmr ex773 this is a model recently EZ something replaced but im sure theres a few kicking about in some tesco stores. have the barcode at home so i will check this for you when i finish. cheapest on amazon is £199.99 scans at £7.50 have receipt at home..

hmm...I think from experience of checking hundreds of electricals...and the tons of people on here who have done the same, I will confidently state that most DO have the stickered barcodes on....the odd one may slip through the net (I'm hoping thats how you got all your goodies ;) )..
but the majority will have stickers on and any sensible person isnt going to peel them off.
I'm assuming the DVD recorder is another example...

All I'll say is be very careful...what you're doing is illegal....and promoting it on here helps no one :( spend a while reading back and see how we pick up bargains on here the legitimate way!!! :)

Not sure if this is the right place for Tesco chit-chat, given its in the "gone" section of the board. Anyway....

In B*rehamw**d Tesco this morning and someone had a trolley full of gifts and was having a big argument with the managers. Ended up with 3 managers (at least they had red scarves round their necks, so I assume managers).
A gift that looked like a toy/ game in a blue and white starred box. The shopper had by the sound of it found it at a very discounted price andit must have gone through the till much higher. Tesco staff were having none of it and were refusing to sell at the lower price. Shopper was adamant that the displayed price should be honoured. They argued back and for for at least 10 minutes with raised voices from the shopper. Then shoppers friend announced she had taken a photo of the display showing the cheap price and was phoning head office there and then. Managers backed off, leaving one to deal with very irate shopper, who kept saying that Tesco have to sell at the shown price and manager saying that she had 2 pallets full in the back and wasn't bringing them out! Sadly, I don't know how it ended.

*** desperately trying to wrack brains on anything seen with stars on the box!!****

i know you didnt really see what the item ws... but did you see what sort of size the box was please??? - Dvd/video game size? lego box size? - any other ideas would be welcome pleeeaaaassssseeew. xxx

I've never managed to find the 1p nuts, despite trying ! I must be missing the boat on them all the time :(. Generally I find all the SA ok in this store, happy to put through vouchers and as long as you don't make too much of a nuisance of yourself, they'll be fine with DTD items too. Just remember to try and keep a low profile and be polite and curteous and you should be ok . I think you probably just got unlucky but learn from it and don't go to her till again ;)

I got 1p nuts from this store :o always use ss tills for all my finds, never manned :)

  • R.E - Stickered Barcodes. i know that quite a lot of MSEers MUST at least attempt to remove barcoded stickers - For example, the amnount of times i have picked up a 'Moon Dough' to see if there were any with stickers missing - Nearly ALL of them had at least had an attempt made on removing the stickers....

I know myself, that on one occasion, the underneath barcode was visable.. just slightly, as the sticker hadnt covered it properly - so i will admit, i put my finger over the stickered barcode and scanned the little bit that was sticking out underneath..... - i would not make a habbit of it - but it could have happened if i had scanned it anyway. :)

i wasnt 'encouraging it' - as you put it.... just mearley bringing it up that a LOT of people do it. - I have seen the evidence on many re-stickered items in Ts with the sticker half pulled off..... then left discarded when it f***ed up the barcode underneath.
