  • Evening all.

Well done on new jobs, hugs to anyone who needs one and sending a Get Better Soon wish to anyone who is ill or injured.

OH out for the evening so I am slowly getting sozzled on the many bottles of wine we seemed to aquired over the last day or two Hic, Hic.

Had a RESULT today. OH off out tonight so i thought I would treat myself to a meal deal. Figured the best way to do it would be to have the bottle of wine in the meal deal included in the buy 6 bottles to get 25% off. However, I wanted to do it with the smallest additional outlay possible. I decided to buy three lots of the 2 for £3 mini bottles or the mega cheap Pinot Noir (which I have yet to find). I also wanted to get the best deal possible so selected the most expensive wine and main in the meal deal selection. I also thought I might try the voucher in the price flop mag. for the ready made meals.

Got to the store and found the meal deal signs had been removed (sure they were up last week). Found a supervisor and asked if the deal was still on and was told the £10 finest meal deal had ended a couple of weeks ago. Went back home and decided to see if there were any new offers on Ts web site, only to find that meal deal items were still listed and still had a few weeks to run. I was curious as to whether the deal was web or store specific so phoned HO. Was told the deal was still on and would certainly be on in my local store. I asked them if they could phone the store to check for certain as I had already been in once and told it was not. He phoned the store, spoke to the manager and confirmed back to me that it was.

Off I toddled to Ts again. Picked up the meal deal, 2 for £3 bottles of wine and paid at the till. £1 coupon was accepted for the ready meal and the two wine discounts came off. However, the meal deal did not kick in. Went to CS and got DTD. Ended up with 1 large bottle of wine, 6 small bottles of wine, a side, main and desert for wopping sum of £1.95. Me is a happy bunny :-)

P.S. I was going to try to get a bottle of Heidsieck Champers with 25% off and a JTD of £15 but there was non on the shelf and I was running out of time.

nahteb20 Similar thing happened to my 5yr old son. He fell in the park in the summer and landed on his arm wrong. We took him to A and E and was told he hadnt broken it. Two days later he still wasnt able to use his arm at all and so took him back and then we get the 'sorry' and he had actually broken it. At least we got a sorry though, so often they dont even say that when they make mistakes!

Ist it awful hearing that our case is not the only ones and it is happening all the time!!

They were very sorry when we went back and the senior consultant couldnt have done more which was nice, he said he would personally make sure all were aware of what had happened and that he would make sure it didnt happen again.

I just feel so guilty, because we were told she HAD to walk on it, i kept nagging her and making her try. ( she can be a drama queen at times) but she was really in a lot of pain! I feel like such a bad mother :(

Hi, sorry when buying the 5 comfort pure do you go through self scanners or a manned till?

Either, but the self service will alert a SA anyway as you are using 6 coupons. Oh and I'd make sure you put the £1 off household goods one through first.

    It's only a game

same here with the hols, went to gambia abuot 15 years ago stayed in a hotel, but me and oh snuck off adn went for a tour round ourselves and stayed ina mudhut in the middle of nowhere.

the cockroaches and the outside loo;);) did freak me out a bit though. (backgarden) but it was only when oh got off his head on the moonshine started to panic a bit.

wicked - oh those were the days.

another time when i was young and nieve we went to amsterdam and i wanted to look at the red light district. "you've just walked past it" my oh said.

we we had to walk along again as i really hadn't noticed. dooooooh stayed in a cool campsite just out of town as well.

I used to stay with an ex friend in Cairo, the flat was very very basic, you never knew if there was going to be any running water or not and if there was there was no way of heating it. When the water did run you jumped in the bath and threw a bucket of water over yourself. Water buckets were kept filled up for flushing the toilet though. He had an old broken down fridge in the kitchen and I opened it once and there were cockroaches scuttling about everywhere. I got up in the middle of the night once to go to the loo and on my way to the light switch I heard this crunch under my foot, switched on the light and I'd squashed a cockroach the size of a tortoise, it was massive! Horrible things.
