Hi, sorry when buying the 5 comfort pure do you go through self scanners or a manned till?

Went through normal till in Pr@sc@t today. Loads of the 34p DM there too!
  • I used to stay with an ex friend in Cairo, the flat was very very basic, you never knew if there was going to be any running water or not and if there was there was no way of heating it. When the water did run you jumped in the bath and threw a bucket of water over yourself. Water buckets were kept filled up for flushing the toilet though. He had an old broken down fridge in the kitchen and I opened it once and there were cockroaches scuttling about everywhere. I got up in the middle of the night once to go to the loo and on my way to the light switch I heard this crunch under my foot, switched on the light and I'd squashed a cockroach the size of a tortoise, it was massive! Horrible things.
Had the cochroach thing when i worked in Spain only i crunched them with my spatula when flipping burgers in the kitchen for the tourists :rotfl:

Not sure that this is anything that supermarkets don't know about already. As long as those of us who continue to only take advantage of what is above board and open to all then we should have nothing to fear Sorry if I'm repeating what others have said:) I'll watch the prog at some time but from what has been said I get the impression that some things are sensationalised and the facts stretched to make good television.:)

While it may be true to say if you are playing by the rules you should be ok, I just get the feeling that it's going to be a repeat of when Martin told everyone to print money* and go spend it in Tesco! This resulted in them changing their coupon policy dramatically.
Hopefully the majority who saw this program will still be too lazy to search for and use coupons in the same number as Judith does, or the supermarkets will begin to feel the pinch. Restricting us to say, 2 or 3 coupons per transaction would inconvenience the most "above board" shopper too.

*Obviously not money exactly, but I do remember him on GMTV enthusiastically urging people to print off a dogfood coupon worth about £6 and to take it to Tesco for £6 free stuff!! Tesco were inundated that week and understandably not happy.

    It's only a game

Thanks for you serious and much appreciated thoughtfull reply. I was however joking about the DTD:o Sorry:o

I didn't actually tell the full story to save too long a post and it was just to share an experience and make a joke of it:). Jessops told me that they have to manually request a retry of a declined payment which they didn't do. The order no of the cancelled order was on one of the deliveries so it wasn't a double order of the second if that makes any sense. As I was also going through Quidco the first order didn't track but the second did for the correct amount i.e. one camera.

Sorry again I was just trying to lighten things up a bit with all the discussion on the CH4 thing. (Recorded it but haven't had time to watch it yet, so no comment on that)

With a bit of luck you might get a refund from T for one of the cameras and you can keep them both, as long as you didn't tell that that you actually received two cameras. :)
  • Either, but the self service will alert a SA anyway as you are using 6 coupons. Oh and I'd make sure you put the £1 off household goods one through first.

    thanks I hadn't thought about that.

    good evening all.

hope your all enjoying the wine offer - wish i could get involved, but skint atm.. plus i cant drink atm either so suppose its best avoided for me... lol.

anyway - just caught up with the thread... did catch some of that programme on C4 last night and was wondering....

some people have said on here that the lady on the programme was taking the Pee with all the coupons she was using.. getting her 60 odd quid shopping down to a 5er or so.....

why was she taking the pee please?? are you not allowed to use this many coupons? - surely if you have baught the product that has a coupon, then you should be allowed to use it.. no matter if you have 1 other coupon for another item, or 10 other coupons for other relevent items??

i maybe issing the point here, as i was honestly just listening to the programme rather than watching it properly... but did she use the coupons properly? - if she did, then surely shes doing nothing wrong... or is it just the fact that she used sooo many in one transaction.??

this is an honest question and i dont mean to start a rant off or anything... was honestly just wondering..... the reason i ask is i was thinking of doing a 'weekly meal plan' - as on a reaaaaly tight budget these next few weeks, and was going to base my shopping on what coupons i could get... if that makes sense.

    xx
I think that is what a lot on here and the coupon thread do...I can't understand the holier than thou attitude of some... :rotfl:
