I would say £25 a week was very good.
In my household there is two adults, one teenager and two large labradors and we manage nicely on £30 a week.
Advance planning and organization definately saved us about £80 per month.0 -
Dunno. Prob around £35 - £40 per week for two adults and three cats.Where now?0

we do 25 a week for cooking, cleaning lunches and toiletries. Doenst include booze tho
I used to spend 75 a week, not including booze. We eat so much better now than we did then, nothing processed, no carp:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

That's a really good deal for a veg box! I wish I could get one at that price.
Where in the UK are you?0 -
Between £12 and £15 a week for one person usually, including cleaning products and toiletries.
I have managed about £8 a week but this involved a fair bit of bulk buying/careful planning etc, too much for my brain after a hard day at work!'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -
Hi there - this is my first post, but I've been reading the forums for a couple of weeks. I've just resigned to concentrate on the last months of my degree (I wasn't earning loads anyway) and really need to save money - groceries are the obvious start. Me and my boyfriend and two kittens regularly spend over £50-£60 per week on shopping in Tesco. I did a meal plan last week, which includes 3 meals I'll be freezing for next week, and bought everything at Waitrose. It cost £35, but I had a £25 John Lewis voucher for Christmas, and we had enough kitten food to last the week. Next week I think it can be cut down even further, and we have £25 M&S vouchers to use up - I might try to spend no more than that, apart from getting kitten food at Tescos.
If anyone has any ideas how to cut down on the kitten food please let me know. We buy 4x whiskas kitten loaf at 1.44 each, a bag of litter at just under £3.00 and extra biscuits which is just under £10 a week! I haven't found anywhere that I can get the kitten food in bulk or cheaper, and they need the litter as they don't go outside yet. I've been buying own brand biscuits and might swap them to adult biscuits as they're approaching 6 months.0 -
I bulk buy my cats stuff from pets at home, the only thing i wont economise on is the cat litter though, they have catsan but only cus of the fact its the best cat litter for odours. it basically means i can scoop the tray daily, do a small top up and only change the complete tray once a week or every 10 days, having two cats means i have two trays and that can be expensive !
Not to mention the smell !
I weaned both cats onto Pets at home dry complete, and bulk buy that when they have special offers on like buy 2 get one free and ive never been in there and not seen a similar offer on felix cat food. I can manage on about £15 a month average for both cats food and litter*Spendi*
