So please could everybody (who wants to) tell us how much they are spending on how many people and the frequency i.e weekly/monthly etc.

I know what you are all thinking nosey sod and only just joined:rotfl: but it could be fun and will be interesting to find out what is manageble:A

This has been asked before. There are loads of threads about saving money on food. Queenie is the best one to ask!

  • Just a quick reply to save you searching other threads - I spend £60 per week and it is just my husband and I - so I think you are doing well. My friend has a husband and two kids and she spends £110 per week and they are not rolling in money, nor eat tesco finest. I know I could spend less and in fact eat tesco blue strip value food - but good food and nutrition is important to me. I save most my money buying an organic box of vegetables and eggs for £7.00 each week - this more than feeds us and it is local produce.
Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 2016

I spend a maximum of £50 per week and that's for 2 adults, one 6 foot 13 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. Plus 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 4 fish. That also includes all toiletries and household stuff like washing powder etc.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250

i don't go buy weekly really. but i have £200 which is from 23rd of month to 22nd. and that feeds 2 adults 2 children , 1 in nappies , and 4 cats. this inculdes all cleaning and toiletrees and a takeaway if we wnt one.

i guess then if a divide it up it is £50 on a 4 week month and £40 a week on a 5 week month. ( think i done the maths right )

My boyfriend and I usually spend no more than £30 a week on all food & household products. We usually come in at between £20 - 25 though.

Edit - we have 2 cats too!

For me and OH, no children or pets, I'd say between £40-45 per week including wine.

We spend around £200 a month for 2 adults
Bringing that down though ;) (used to be £360 a month)

Edited to say : that is all grocery shopping including food, toiletries, fruit & veg, meat, milk, cleaning equipment etc)

Just added up everything I spent food wise for January (5week month) £118-96, for 2 adults. I did have things in the storecupboard and meat in the freezer though, and still have plenty to use up.

I have just done a Tesco online order for February, after doing a meal plan for the month and it came to £41.30 including toiletries and cleaning stuff. We usually spend about £60.00 per month on fresh fruit, veg and salads, from our local market.

I aim to spend no more than £25 per week for just me. But as Nic_santorini says above, good food and nutrition is important to me also so while I could probably spend a lot less, I don't.

In fairness though, the £25 is a max and often I only spend £15-20 if I'm well stocked.

Ditto about the good food and nutrition Goonlord. Most of the money my OH and I spend is on fruit & veg from the local greengrocers, I only eat white meat so we don't get through a lot of meat so for our £25 a week we make sure we eat well.
