I had a google and found this Shewee survival kit, but why would you need a knife?

Well I've just ordered my Travel Johns from Amazon. I decided to cover all eventualities and got piddle and poop bags. :rotfl:

 Have you got inside knowledge about the coming winter, aliasojo?!

I think I'll dig out the old nappy-soaking lidded bucket and stick it in the car boot.......

Just got a healthy sense of paranoia. :rotfl:

Nah not really, I know people who got stuck here last winter and they were stuck overnight. Taking no chances. :D Better too prepared than not enough.

Will you update the thread when it gets here? Sounds like just what I could do with when travelling.

I don't mean on if you've used it, just on whether it looks usable!!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I could maybe review the thickness or colour of those? Not really sure anything else is needed. I think it's safe to assume the aperture will be large enough. :D

If you mean the traveljohn? They're very easy to use and, to be honest, quite difficult to use wrong. It's a plastic bag with the top folding over the sides to reveal a flexible oval plastic rim which is firmly attached to a bag which contains gel (the same sort of stuff which is in disposable nappies I assume). You simply open it out, fold the top edges over, slide the rim under yourself and well.......perform. Slide it out again and lift the sides of the bag up and use the seal. They can, in an emergency, be used more than once without coming into contact with the previous content but obviously if you exceed what the gel can absorb then you'd have to be careful of spillage after use, in normal use they won't spill anything unless you're daft enough to stand on the pack :o and even then it's nothing a quick hoover in the services won't remove. :rotfl:
I've used them a few times and they're easy to use, also handy to have in the car if someone suffers from travel sickness. They used to come with a wet wipe in each pack, don't know if they still do though?

Thanks Peaknuckle, sounds good! Is that just the piddle one or the other one too?

  • I've looked at the website regarding the "number 2" version and the way it's made is exactly the same but with a wider opening as far as I can see. Tbh I've had to resort to using the original version for such an occurrence and it coped fine with the only problem being aiming but the new type seems to have solved that problem. In fact I'm going to get a few packs for the lorry as it's a bit of a problem if you're parked in a lay by which is miles from any toilets, thanks to the tacho hubby can't move the lorry for 9 hours and you've got to go
