    Hello everyone!

I have applied for a web search rater for Appen Butler and Ive taken the 3 tests ( pre-screen assessment ). Im just wondering how many days before they get back with the results? It`s been 9 days so far.

    Thanks!

    Hi, and welcome. :)

Not exactly sure what point you're at from what you've said, but this is how the process worked out for me a year ago:

    Day 1 - Initial application
    Day 6 - Pre-screener
    Day 13 - Exam 1
    Day 16 - Exam 2
    Day 24 - Signed contract
    Day 28 - Started work

Im not sure this is how it worked for me, I have applied for the job, the next day they sent me the pre-screener tests link which Ive taken and completed all in the same day, but it has been 9 full days since Ive heard from them, so Ive sent an E-mail wondering how I did in the test, but no reply so far.

Im From Egypt, so maybe it works in a different way for people from different countries, right? :)

Sounds like there might not be any roles currently available, then. Or maybe they're just being slow. Sure you'll hear back from them soon, anyway, as I wouldn't expect them to ignore emails (unlike LF.. :D)

Thanks. Am hoping this week's a rare "easy week". :)

Basically, the crowdsourcing role does nothing more than take advantage of people who need to work from home, as far as I'm concerned!

Thanks, that's really useful info as I applied for all the Lionbridge positions and the only one they offered was crowd worker. Having read up on it a little I was thinking this is just a new way for companies like this to pay less for the work they used to pay a decent hourly rate for. I was considering if it would be worth continuing with my application.

Sorry, know this is the BH thread but it's kind of relevant :)

I think you are very correct about this, if you were to calculate how many hits you can achieve in an hour and then the corresponding money earned during that period, I suspect it wouldn't come close to the national minimum wage. It is, in my view, nothing but pure exploitation.

I hope you hear back soon and the outcome is positive! :)

Hi again. Haha, I was feeling pretty frustrated when I wrote that!

Not sure what it would be like with LB, but the ABH version is DEFINITELY hard work. There's a large variety of different tasks which seem to fall into 3 main categories - 1) Impossible to understand/pass the qualification test for, 2) Understandable but too time-consuming/low paid, and 3) OK. Unfortunately, I haven't seen an "OK" since some time last week, and as a result am still a few dollars away from the minimum payment of $50 despite logging in every day for about the last 6 weeks. Oh, and there's also the fact that all tasks relate to US websites/culture, which further complicates matters quite a bit.

Having said that, there do seem to be a few others on here who find it easier than I do, though.. So maybe it's just me. :D

Third and final re-qualification test completed, and looks as if I failed it by one question. Got 3 out of 6 on one category, and I was off by two on one of the 3 I got wrong. Completely disagree with their reasoning on one of the examples, but obviously appealing it is not going to get me anywhere so it seems like this time it's officially over.. :(

Fingers crossed for you MallRat. Do you have any idea when you might find out?

Email usually comes through very early Tuesday morning. And as they have to go by the metrics, it's obviously going to be end of contract.

Not sure if you've had an RTA today regarding an American actor that was rated lower than usual for no real reason.. But if so, I'm blaming him.
