The insurance page will show the dates the insurance runs from.
The vehicle page will show the current reg, engine and chassis number.
The second page will show the cherished transfer date and original reg, if the engine and chassis number match up job done.
On a second note what reg is on the tax?
I think that's another key issue, because if you haven't changed that over technically you could be charged with failing to display a current tax cert, but I very much doubt it has the old reg on the tax as it's changed automatically on transfer with the new log book and as the op has the correct logbook all should be well.
He would have been tagged for that as well if that was the case.
Dam annoying when these things happen at night and over the weekend.:mad:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

I'm pretty sure I contacted the ins company as well as dvla etc.
Changes to number plates mean an insurance reassesment (cherished plates can get nicked so this could affect the value and also the chances of a damage claim).
Therefore if you had contacted them they would of done a reassessment of your premium and told you on the phone when you rang them.
The fact that you went and found a cert with the old number on suggests to me that you simply forgot. I don't think the fuzz will like that.. although the insurance company *might* still agree that they'll cover it as its the same vehicle but most simply refuse.0 -

If the reg number had been used before it would show the details of the vehicle currently bearing the reg number on page one and on page two it will show details of the vehicle the reg number was previously on.
Page one would also show the previous reg number of the vehicle.
A check on the original reg number on the vehicle would come back with the details of that vehicle.
A chassis number check would come back with two exact matches, both relating to the same vehicle."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

But if the op had forgot to transfer the insurance, which we now have to assume is the case, (sorry op), it would still show as NO insurance, which is the exact issue here.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Good to see the police are hard at work.0

I wonder if during al this the OP has now contacted the insurance company and checked if the VED is valid, leaving it is probably going to harm their defence (if there is a defence)

Of course there is a defence, but it's a technical issue, (insuranace paid but details incomplete??, it's not a hanging offence for f's sake) and since the op has vanished I doubt we will know the end game.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Yes, that would be correct. On doing the check for insurance it would show up as insurance not held on the cherished plate. If a check had been carried out on the original reg number it should, in theory, show up the insurance details for that vehicle."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

And the issue of not displaying a valid VED ?
But I think it maybe more serious than you think as we could all just change the plates on our vehicles and get off on a technicality.
I'm sure the OP will be back
