That's better, I don't feel so guilty now. The dishwasher is unloaded and loaded with the breakfast things. The toilet is cleaned inside and out, the bathroom sink has been swished and some stuff put away on the shelf. The cooker has been wiped down, the worktops wiped down and the bin wiped over. One load of washing got out of the tumble dryer (will fold it later) one lot off the airers and folded, one load gone into the tumble dryer and the airer filled again. Now I can sit down and keep an eye on DD as she seems to be stirring and drink the coffee I just made.

now, sit down with that coffee and relax! :) you've done plenty in just those few minutes!

      • Dust

Nicki.. it is only safe to say I am welcome for a coffee from the other side of the country.. lol.. you wouldn't offer twice!

My youngest boy has been in trouble for kicking a teacher, I wouldn't mind but it was the nicest teacher in the school.. good job really or he would have been facing a 3 day suspension!!!

I have just had my gas and electric meters read, so I though I'd work out a rough guess of the bill so I didn't get too much of a shock when the actual bill arrived.. well, My gas bill is £309.57, and the electric bill.. £3429.46.. only 9 times higher than it normally is!!!!!!! Needless to say they are coming out next Friday to check all is as it should be!! It's a blinking good job I have a sense of humour today!

Having a cuppa while the children clear the carp off the floor in the back room, then I can finish vacuuming it.. I've even done under the sofa and taken the nets down to be washed and put the curtain rail back up that I've been asking DH to do for 2 weeks!! ... I can dangle the curtains back up now!!

Pigpen how come your gas bill is cheaper than mine? (Your leccy bill is a bit higher though :D) I only live in a 3 bedroom terrace and I can't believe that it is over £500 for a quarter, we were even a little bit in credit for the last bill! I've been really careful with the gas this winter, keeping the heating down low and trying to use the cooker as little as possible. DH is going to hit the roof.

    Ha-blooming-ha!!

regards the gas.. we don't use much!

We have gas CH (11 rads but only 7 turned on) gas hob (leccy oven) and gas water heated.. we have a gas fire in the back room which we never use.. mainly because it usually has washing draped on the lintel and it would set alight lol. Really considering how little we seem to use it seems quite high.

The electric is 'usually' about £400 a quarter.. which isn't bad.. we have 4 pc's, 2 ps2's, 1 fridge freezer, 1 larder freezer, 2 WM's 2 TD's, 1 kettle (that never stops!) DW, BM, a couple of lights we never turn off (the landing is pitch black if we do) and all the other little appliances that are used occasionally. I've rechecked the electric meter.. and you know I mentioned I'm a 'bit' dippy??? Well... I don't know if I dare admit this.. I read it earlier as.. 51938.. having fretted about it ALL afternoon I decided to recheck.. and made my son check as well.. 15940 (will have been 38 earlier) I only read the 1 & 5 the wrong way round didn't I?? ... Well there is a high number of dyslexic people in my family, maybe a little bit rubbed off on me! :o:o

So.. the bill is actually £380 ish.. plus tesco clubcard points.. one for every £1.. small saving there!
