Now it's all working take a look at this - Reinstalling Windows - the song.
The audio quality is dire but it's hilarious.0 -
Well I took the plunge and reinstalled again but wish I hadn't as now can't get the audio to work - everytime I try and install the same driver as before the PC crashes half way through installation.
I deleted the driver and then redownloaded it and got through the install, at the end it asked to restart (as normal) so said yes and when it restarted the PC said it had found new hardware - the realtek 97 audio thing. It then prompted me to install the drivers and the search wizard found them on my PC and goes to download it but then crashes and reboots.
Any ideas what I can do now? I'm gutted as I did the exact same process yesterday and it worked so don't get why it's crashing the computer today0 -

Uninstall the Driver via the Device Manager for now and reboot. Which other Drivers have you installed so far and from which source?0 -

I did a system restore to before the drivers were installed (before you posted) and then installed everything via slimdriver and it all works!
When it worked first time I installed the VGA driver via slim driver and the audio driver via the gigabyte link (in that order). When I had the problem with non-installation and crashing was when I installed the VGA via the gigabyte link and then tried to install the audio by the gigabyte link too - it's a mystery why it didn't work second time round!
Another big thanks for all your help :T0 -
