Barnabysue, you must have a big loft hatch to get a double mattress up there! :eek:
My nephew put the decorations up in the loft yesterday and lost his balance and dented the aluminium ladders! He was fine though but the ladders aren't! :rotfl:

Winds have calmed down a bit now thankfully.

No, just a normal sized hatch. The mattress was so old we managed to 'fold' it into 3 and hold it like that with string, but there wasn't room for OH and the mattress in the gap, so he had to get right into the loft leaving me to lift it (or not). I started off trying to slide it up the ladder but it kepf catching on the rungs so I had to take that away completely. Thinking of using the Hoover lead as a hoist was inspirational though, we'd never have done it otherwise.

Me and OH have been trying for ages get in the stupid tin. We have had to give up. I only wanted a bloody easy tea :rotfl: :rotfl:

Wev'e had this problem before.Couldn't open it manually or with electric can opener.Hubby's response was don't buy the b****y things anymore.
