Morning all, it's a miserable day here, wet, windy and grey, OH has just taken the dog out, they will come back wet and muddy so I have shut all of the doors to keep the dog contained while he gets dried off. Hubby stands there dripping while the dog gets towelled off with a warm towel from the radiator.....something wrong with that scenario I think.

Hope it's a lucky day for everyone.

Lol sheils! :D You'll have to nickname your son 'the vampire' :p
DD has been much happier over xmas but stayed in her room most of the time. She didnt want to go this morning but I'm sure she'll be ok once she's there :) Hubby got up and took her in the end!

Barnabysue, I think I would probably put my dog first before hubby too (thats if I had a dog anyway!) :rotfl: My DH always has man flu anyway so wouldnt make much difference ;)

That tassimo comp is starting to annoy me now :o Tried all different times of the day and still no good!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Thanks Katie i will have a look for some. I pass Boots on my way home :)

Just got my bus. The wind is crazy, i almost contemplated not catching bus and seeing if i could get my umbrella to carry me to work and save some money :rotfl: :rotfl:

Bought some sandwich stuff last night but have left it at inlaws! What a silly thing to do. Good job they dont mind me popping in even if they aren't home.

I fully expect OH to br sprawled on the beanbag in front of the tv when i get home. It is just his thing.

Normal postie hadnt been when i left but no idea if they are back to normal today or not?

OMG. panic stations here but what a giggle. I had ordered a double mattress for our spare room as the one in there is years old. It was due to arrive tomorrow and suddenly this morning a lorry pulled up to deliver it today! We had no idea what to do with the old one, the weather is too bad to try to take it to the tip, even if it fitted into the back of the car, so we rolled it and decided to stick it in the loft for now. My OH got up there and said 'Pass it up then'........have you ever tried lifting a mattress on your own? There was no way I could do it. In the end he dropped the lead to an old hoover down and I slid it under the mattress and passed the end back up and we hoisted it up that way. Those Egyptians had nothing on us :D It was so funny.

Very windy here. Quite a large tree has blown down in the front garden opposite but the owners are not home so it will be a surprise for them when they get home.

Nothing appears to have been hit by it luckily.

Well done to everyone who has had a win this year - nothing for me as yet - but very early days and as I entered so few comps in December no holding out too much hope.

  • Good afternoon and happy new year.

I have had a sad start to the year really - my Aunt died just before Christmas and today was the funeral :(.
However it was the "nicest" funeral I have ever been to (if Any funeral can be called nice). And it was a celebration of her amazing life - she was truly an inspirational lady (survived breast cancer and a double mascectomy when in her 20's and lived to 85 years old!) As devoting her later life to running and volunteering for charities.
