In Sheffield (The Moor) today they had a load of Zizzle Zounds interactive speakers for £4.99 - RRP £29.99. Difficult to explain what these are but see here:
http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=1562&src_t=wnw&aff=1272 and here:

As well as acting as speakers for an mp3 player or alarm clock, these also allow you to create your own music by moving around the sculptures - looks like it would suit a variety of ages and might be particularly engrossing for kids with autism or learning difficulties. I was highly tempted myself except that I have no kids I could pretend to buy it for, and Mr Agent_C would heave a heavy sigh to see me come through the door with yet another piece of gadgetry.0 -

Bargain tape if you've still got loads of wrapping to do?
10 rolls of Niceday (not-bad-quality) tape in box, only 39p. I bought three boxes to see me over the next year
I've found that they fit ok on my old Scotch and Sellotape etc dispensers, but only after I've used some tape off of it because there's so much. Hope that makes sense
Only pic I could find of it ...

Home Bargains Edgely - Stockport.
Went in hoping for Cyberman + Tardis moneybox thingy's but none to be seen.
But among my purchases I did manage to get an Energiser "Audio" battery charger for £3.99. It came with 2 AAA 850mAh NiMH batteries and can also take AA sized. This is the one selling at £7.99. Will do fine for Wii remotes and digital cameras sitting under the tree at the moment."Whatever happened to string?"0
