BOUGHT A 98p PUMPKIN FROM ASDA YESTERDAY, OR SO I THOUGHT. WHEN CHECKING MY RECEIPT I DISCOVERED THEY HAD CHARGED ME £1 PER KILO AND IT WAS A WHOPPER.....TOTAL COST £6.58.....WENT BACK IN AND GOT A REFUND BUT GOT TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE IN THE HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE Q WHO SAID SHE IS OVERCHARGED BY ASDA ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR HER SHOPPING.....I'LL BE CHECKING EVERY RECEIPT FROM NOW ON !!!

A few problems. a) this thread is about Home Bargains, not ASDA. b) ALL CAPS = shouting. You may post a thread in vent bent and heaven sent by all means

I bought some wooden puzzles [not jigsaws] for 99p also nursery ryhme cd's which were 50p. Great liitle stocking fillers.

Presumably these AREN'T part of the batch that were recalled earlier this year. :eek:

Can't see that HB would knowingly sell a product that has been subject to a recall and shouldn't be on the shelves. :think:

Ok call me naive as I've bought them for my dd - but why were they recalled? I'm sure they couldn't sell recalled goods ..... could they???

There were some very high profile recalls by Mattel earlier this year and it was all over the news. There will be several threads on this issue if you do a search of the forums.

One of the product recalls related to the use of lead-based paints, but the one that affected Polly Pocket was to do with the magnets used which could potentially become detached and cause a choking hazard:

Like I say, it was very high profile so I definitely can't believe that HB would be so irresponsible to put products on their shelves which they know to be potentially dangerous.

Bishop Auckland had Lindt chocolate Santas (125g) and Reindeer (100g) back in today.
Both 99p each
Dead by date on the Santas is March'08
Didn't check the reindeers
