Hi guys
My meal plan is below, as I'm late home (aerobics) twice a week, we tend to have something on toast or soup etc those nights. OH can be late home so I no longer put days against meals and just opt for the most appropriate on the day:
Scampi, Chips & Peas
Steak Pie & Veg
Chicken Curry & Rice/Jacket Potatoes
Pizza & Salad
Lamb Chops, Potatoes & Veg
Hope this helps xxIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -

This is from Falling Cloudberries by Tessa Kiros
125g Butter
230g Casre sugar
250g plain yoghurt
1 tbsp rosewater
3 eggs (separated)
1/2 tsp grated lime rind
125g plain flour
125g semolina
2tsp baking powder
55g Ground almonds
for the syrup:
230g caster sugar
1 tsp rosewater
250ml water
Firstly, cream the butter and sugar, then add evrything else except the egg whites and mix well. Beat the egg whites until firm and add to the cake mix. Bake for 35 mins at gasmark 4, in a 9inch square pan
Mix the syrup ingredients in a pan and boil for 5 mins. Pour over the cake while it's hot. Sometimes I add lime to the syrup
Leave to cool. It is very sweet so makes about 20 small portions (good for OS). I eat it will vanilla yoghurt and fruit.0 -

Just wanted to say that we eat quite abit of fruit and veg, but recently the veg is very short dated or goes manky very quickly. OH was popping to veg shop every 2 days and was becoming a pain.
We thought for a change to try some frozen veg and we bought some sliced green beans (88p for 750g), frozen sweetcorn (99p for 1kg) and petit pois (£1.33 for 1kg). Our basic veg is carrots and cabbage as these last well in the fridge but have been using the above frozen veg in the steamer and they are brilliant and taste lovely:D The above veg would last us for about 2 weeks alongside the carrots and cabbage, so about £3 per week on veg that wont go manky;)
We have tried frozen cauli, brocolli and cabbage but dont like any of them. We are going to try frozen sprouts this week and maybe the mixed pepperswe will stick with the above veg though and keep in.

I found the same! Veg would go manky so now we have frozen petit pois and frozen sweetcorn. (Didn't particularly like frozen carrots as they still took forever to go soft). I also always make sure I've got a couple of tins of sweetcorn in case I want to add them to sandwiches or wraps or anything cold if I'm not cooking
(Frozen broccoli is ok in fishermans pie)
Seems to work out more economical in the long run as not throwing stuff out - although still buying leeks, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes every week or two but always seem to use these up before they go nastyworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
