Can working really harm your health? or is it just something people say?

But I am 19 saving for my own house which is quite difficult these days. So this is my reasoning behind working these hours
Ah, yes. It was really easy when I was 18. They gave houses away like sweeties.

not working has made me more ill than I have ever been.
This.
The most stressful period in my life was when I was out of work for a couple of months in 2008. Thankfully I had a decent redundancy payout and wasn't stressed financially, but the thought of it running out whilst still looking for a job affected my sleeping patterns horrendously.
My plan was to take a couple of months off and chill out, but in the 3rd month there seemed to be no hope of getting a decent job. Luckily I got something not long after, and things got back to normal.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
Fine OP , but have you added in the time you travel between the jobs?
You are a careworker and that is a very responsible job plus agency jobs?
Does that require you working late in the evening?
My shifts for the agency are all different but in my main job my shifts are.
7am - 2pm (morning) 2pm 9pm (late shift) or 7am - 9pm (long-day shift).
After finishing at 9pm when on lates or longdays, I go to the old mans. Which is about 9.20pm finish for about 10pm then go home.
Agency only give me shifts when I am off that day, and they ring me up to go there.0 -

Was referring to you saying it was hard to buy a house these days as if it was easy in the 90s.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

Thanks .. so if you do work for the agency on a day off , what time do you finish and are you ever back in on an early the next day?0

Many of us can name points in our lives when we worked silly hours and for in hindsight was not much reward. It different though when it is for a specific purpose that has an end date. Spare a thought though for those people that are self employed and run/own a 7 day week business that doesn't quite generate enough money to be sufficiently staffed. Think smaller farmers with livestock, independent shop keepers, publicans etc. For many of these people the alternatives are often worse.0

Not had that happen yet but I am sure it will. Agency shifts vary. They offered me one today but I couldn't do it as not enough notice. it was 4pm - 10pm would of been back at about 11. Would of been back in work at 7am tommorow.
I can go to the old mans anytime I can fit him in. It is just 1 hour a day cleaning, not scheduled to set times.0 -

I meant the deposit was difficult sorry if I offended.
It was probably harder to pay the bills in the 90's, but you could get a mortgage on a 10% deposit (so my dad says) now they are asking for 25%0 -
Would HAVE not would of
