Still think a TV Link is a good idea, you or the children, could watch a freeview channel whilst the others are watching satellite.
Assuming you have an aerial and TVs with digital tuners. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
oh well bang goes that idea - sky guy didnt have a spare box - says he doesnt carry extra stock
He's bluffing.
They carry a van stock as well as boxes for installs that they get extra,Besides, what would he do if he went to fit a box & found it was faulty?...Drive xx miles back to the stores to get a replacement,of re-schedule the job. He'd look bloody silly in front of the customer & it's poor CS.
I used to carry,as we all did,two of each type of boxes (2x standard,2x Sky+100's,2xHD ect for service calls & extra jobs, plus we got issued the boxes we needed for that day's jobs, handing back those we didn't need the next day.0 -
do you know spike, i had a gut feeling he was lying. My own common sense tells me that he must carry extra stock. That is why i went on and on about how gutted i was i couldnt get the extra box but to no avail. I feel really cross now but what can i do about it?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

I have ordered multi room to be installed tommorow, it was free box free install and £10.25 a month. Wait they do keep having offers.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

wouldnt it be easier and cheaper for the kids to have freeview? so many free channels on there0

Its not the boxes that are the issues, it the extra sky cards... sky will need to post these to youIf you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

Yes it would be good if the kids USE the freeview box - currently kids using sky and adults using freeview box!!! Also - should the guy have done something with my phoneline? I asked him to check the phone socket in the room as it didnt work (had what looked like some old sky extension in it) He said he could hear something on the line but no dial tone. I did make him aware that i do have working sockets in other rooms but he didnt ask me for any further information. Not sure how it works but sure it said something in the literature about phone socket. Can anyone clarify what exactly should have been done at installation. Would be very grateful:) I dont have broadband swapped over yet but telephone goes live next week.Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

Your Sky+ box should have been attached to a working phone line by the fitter - it is a requirement for the first 12 months, altho' can be overridden by £25 payment. However, don't think Sky are enforcing any more.
IF you go for multiroom at a future date both boxes WILL have to be attached to working phone sockets so that Sky can ensure that the boxes are being used in the same house, not given to a relative!!:rotfl:0 -
When i try to access box office it says something about a telephone line, does that meant that we will never be able to download a film, as that was one of the reasons for getting it in the first place:)Smile though your bank is breaking:)0

It does for now. Just call up, say you're having problems using box office. There will be a £1 admin fee for booking over the phone, I always waive it for people having trouble.
Only problem is you'll only be able to watch it live, recording is not possible,0
