  • Well, I've just gotten off the phone with the student loans company. My teacher training loan is currently deducted from my salary and I've just gotten the o/s balance from them of £565.95. That means it should be paid off by April. Then I will have a little extra in my salary each month that I can send off to CCCS, and hopefully my debt might be cleared a little bit sooner.
Feeling quite positive at the moment. I don't think I've ever in my adult life actually paid off a loan or credit card - always just transferred them to other cards and loans.

I completely agree - I have always played the credit game and never truely won .... Here is to a positive start for 2012.

Thank you Emily for the inspiration to tackle just one debt a little bit quicker :T

I seriously need some motivation to get my debts down, they dont really go up or down which is fustrating but i havent been making any real effort so my own fault. Just been on the snowball calc and looking at 38 months which isnt bad and thats with no real extra payments which i should be able to make throughout the year from hubbys overtime ;)

I am going for the motivation angle and paying a few smaller CCs this year (which should then give me the better BT offers later in the year).

    I aim to pay off

    Citi loan £908.18 Joint
    Santander £1732.77 DHs
Tesco £2203 - DHs i pay mine each month and put food/petrol on it for the points.
    Very £2381.96 Mine
Mint £3018 - think this may not quite get paid off but going to try, calc says March 2013

I have more to tackle but this is my 2012 aim the others will be minimum but hope to BT to these cards next xmas time to help keep interest down.

    Good luck to everyone

  • Hi All,

havent made any more payments yet. . . . waiting for payday on 20th! only a week! yipee! BUT i just wanted to share our disgusted i am!!! i went on to that snowball calculator thing and but in the info for my capital one credit card that is 39% interest and with a starting balance of £950 and by making minimum payments only by 2111 i would only be down to a balance of £550!!!!! how wrong is that?! 100years to clear £400 when in actual fact i would have paid near £3,000 or more for it!!!! so that has def giving me a firm kick up the bottom! one 39% credit card cleared just one more to go!!! lol

    Hope everyone is well :)
