 to all the newbies, jump right in and enjoy the ride. It may be a bit bumpy but everyone gets there eventually.
Quintwins, when I read you saying it was snowing, I was like "what are you talking about? Snowing! Snowing! don't be silly. Then I read the news and thought Oh! yes, it is snowingNot here at the moment though the temperature has really dropped today.
Thanks for the sympathy mandco. He has decided to keep heading towards his AST for September but will look out for anything jobwise that comes up. Though he has said it will have to be special as he doesn't just want to make a side ways move. The only trouble is the jobs only come up at certain times of the year and you can only put your notice in at certain times of the year and start new jobs at certain times of the year so he could end up having to stay till the end of summer term and if he did would it be better to get his AST before leaving which could mean another year on top of that. The AST is not guaranteed and can only be got if there is something available and the Head is not allowed to say there will be something available until it comes up but she is encouraging him to get the evidence for his AST and has dropped large hints to him and his LM but... So it is difficult.
Did a shop in W!lko's today for toiletries and spent £11. Have also done an A$da delivery for Thursday but I won't put the total down till I have had the delivery. Was going to do it for tomorrow but realised I could do at least 2 days meals with what I had in so pushed it back. I have also order a 3 for £10 and a 2 for £7 and do not have meals attached to all the meat so that will push the food further along plus I will be freezing the extra to do for quick meals so the next delivery will be a lot later in the month, so saving money:D If that makes sense.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Evening all. 2 spends to report. Yesterday spent £16.31 at MrS because I needed bits for making this weeks meals and OH was making a cake so he needed bits for that. Didn't think I needed to go today but we ran out of toilets rolls so we fancied a walk in the snow and included a late evening visit to MrS to pick some up. Managed to get a few good whoopsies including fresh tuna steaks for making a lovely recipe for burgers from Gwyneth Paltrows cookbook for 65p and 72p. Also got a packed salad for my lunch tomorrow for 10p, a pack of chopped mixed veg to have with the veggie shepherds pie I have in the fridge for tomorrows tea for 10p and some reduced FR eggs for brekkies for 49p. as well as a toilet freshener that I needed reduced to £1.09. So that's a total of £22.96 to add to my total:eek:.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Well popped into B7M for some tins and did spend £15 but £4.36 was wool so not counted and £5.92 was fleeces again not counted so actual gs was £4.72 in there and then popped into farm foods for some more tins and spent £4.70 in there. Was very, very proud of myself, had to go to Mr S pharmacy and was asked would I be waiting or popping into store ( all in one ) and I said no will wait and sat there for 15 mins and did not even go and look at any whoopsies, now that for me was a first. I knew there was nothing I wanted today in there so I didn't let myself be tempted as with dashing round to be finished when prescription was ready I would not have taken enough care when checking prices and ended up paying a fortune for stuff I didn't want or need even if it was whoopsied.
Not seen Panorama yet but a friend phoned and said they could have been talking about her, she is horrified to realise she has been falling for all their tricks - been trying to tell her, but she is type of person who will never believe you, but if she sees it on TV then believes it, so she plans to try and change from now on. She has never liked going with me as I take to long as I check every which way for best buy, so even though going through a fortune do get the best value I can out of sm, but does take so much longer, she likes to go in, put what she wants in trolley and get out.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Evening, All
well, as someone else has already mentioned today, thank goodness for being on this thread and actually adding up the grocery spends. I definitely must put the breaks on! NOW!
Still stocking up the freezer, this time a shop at Waitrose (lots of marked down things so though I spent £34.84, nothing was full price, and lots of nice treats in the freezer for Xmas and also in case I get snowed in), and finished off with a shop for things like cat litter, toilet rolls etc (nowt I can eat there, though!), So total spend today of £59.80 - signature updated below, and now only £80 of a large budget left....
I have ordered rib of beef for Xmas lunch (expected spend around £30), and once that is bought later this week, NO MORE SPENDING apart from veges for the rest of the month.
Mind I shouldn't need to...can't open cupboards or freezer without something falling out. Need to start eating it all now :rotfl:
Honestly, I don't normally spend this much...you're all a bad influence....:p
Keep warm & safe

I was feeling quite pleased with myself having a personal NSD and no food shop today - then OH comes home from work with a tub of Ben & Jerrys. It did taste good though...and at least was half price.
Still £2.50ish onto the spreadsheet though.February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500 -
Well Ive not been spending and I did get a refund on the oranges I thought Id slipped up on! when my kids were removing the net fromthe oranges I saw the reduced sticker! So I nabbed the net and returned to get my £1.10 refund! I did that on my way out for a meal too! Careful spends on the meal-only paid for one drink and asked for a jug of water which I shared with 2 others at my table-very moneysaving-always ask for water!
Ran low on sandwich fillings today so boiled some eggs for egg mayo for ds tomorrow and made soome banana muffins from the rather ripe bananas. Avoiding the shops! I was supposed to collect a prescription but phoned the chemist first to see if it was there and it wasn't so I didn't have a wasted journey and had another NSD instead. I used some of my dried egg replacement from Approved foods tonight-has anyone else tried this?I also adapted the muffin recipe with vegetable oil instead of butter as I like my "real butter" on crackers or bread or whatveer and feel its a bit of a waste in cooking as its so expensive now. I used the egg replacement in the muffins and also made ds an omellette with it. Fine in cooking but the water content seemed out of proportion for the omelette-it tooka while to fry off" the excess water from it but tastewise I think it was ok-well he didnt say anything and he went to his room with his plate(naughty)so I have no idea if it was ok or not-I guess I will discover tomorrow! Anyone else had this?Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

Good morning,
Nothing to report apart from money has been spent on milk which should last for a few days. The weather is uninviting which means for me less passing "bargain" shops etc. so hope to have a run of no spend days.0
