  • "Oh no, you're one of those buyers who leave a pointless message in the payment section"

There used to be an option to turn them off in Paypal until eBay changed the Checkout process around a year ago, the ones who say please post to such and such an address instead really get on my nerves, a; you could have changed it yourself during Checkout and b; the shift key will magically create capital letters you lazy.....

  • I am new to selling on eBay but I try to leave buyers feedback after they've paid. Getting feedback at the moment is important as I need to bulid up a trusted feedback line and some good DSR's. I hope by leaving feedback first it prompts buyers to leave me some as It comes accross as efficient.

No Idea if it does though!

I used to wait for feedback on sold items, but now i always leave it first, not noticed any difference in the quality/amount of feedback received though.

    Who cares? FB is optional.

On the other hand, I do expect a seller to leave me FB first, as it reminds me to do the same for them! I am also more likely to buy again from a seller who is prompt to leave FB.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

We all know FB is optional, but it is integral to eBays model and now with best match it effects how high up the listings your items appear. This is why I think it should be made compulsory.

If it's made compulsory you'll probably get buyers who think that it's the sellers fault that they have to leave it & leave crap FB.
We don't need anything else to worry about, as far as I'm concerned.

Mine is left automatically after payment received, can't see any good arguments not to, it obviously matters to (some) customers to receive that way around, no idea why and don't really care, but if it makes for a happier customer and costs us nowt to do, then I'm all in favour.

I do my share of occasionally moaning about customers, but some do have an attitude that customers are the enemy and that they are doing them a favour allowing them to buy from them.

List your goods, sell them, get paid, leave feedback, dispatch, end of sale, next customer please, that's all there is to it.

I'm not sure they will go there, but there will probably be a clearer difference between buyer and seller feedback than there is now.

I always leave my feedback on dispatch as the buye has completed all of their side of the deal - did think about on payment however I have personalised all of my feedback to mention that the order has been dispatched so they then know it's on the way as I don't email them (I'm sure that eBay does though however did a 'tester' purchase on my personal account, paid for it and then marked as dispatched a couple of hours later but no email and no I didn't leave any FB's - I just cancelled the transaction)
  • I'm a seller and my system automatically leaves feedback as soon as the buyer has paid, for some reason it makes the buyer happier about their purchase
