My Poll:
Should eBay Sellers Leave Feedback 1st?
Will Buyers vote "Yes" and Sellers vote "No"?
_____________________________________
Okay, this is not the end of the world, but I'm getting a bit grumpy at sellers not leaving feedback first, or at all.
Look, I've purchased, I've paid instantly, I've left a polite "Thank You" message in the payment section, so why should I have to leave feedback first before the seller. "Oh, this is because we want to make sure you have received the item okay". Yeah right. It is really because they don't want to leave positive in case I leave negative, and apparently you are "held to ransom" as well. Incidentally I've only had to force myself to leave Negative feedback 3 times in 8 years and I've never used a Neutral.
I always leave feedback instantly as a seller.
More annoyingly, if I do leave feedback for the seller first, now I am not getting any in return.
Well, no more, if the seller wants feedback, they'll have to leave it before me. I even thought of changing my username to "YouMustLeaveFBFirst" or something like that.
Told you I was grumpy! :embarasse

What difference will this poll do? As a seller I sell for money not feedback. As a buyer I pay for the item not feedback. As a sellercan only leave me a positive fb for buyers is pretty pointless. As long as I get the itemas described I really don't care if sellers leave me fb or not.
Too many people on ebay seem obsessed with fb and forget it's about the item and money. I have more important things tho do than worry about who leaves fb first. Its a personal choice and in the scheme of things doesn't really matter.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Why not another option......I don't worry about feedback or feedback is OPTIONAL.0

When I sell something I don't consider the transaction complete until feedback is left. Usually buyers don't notify you they have received item so feedback is the only way you find out.
If I leave feedback saying fast payment etc.etc., but then buyer becomes unreasonable, wants to return item without good cause outside DSR time limit, expects me to pay return postage because they have changed their mind, gets aggressive or starts threatening etc. I would then have to change that feedback.
As a seller I cannot leave negative feedback in any circumstances yet buyers still use it as a threat to get what they want (Not happened to me but I know it happens), so why should I leave feedback first?
eBay should make feedback compulsory and have strict guidelines as to it's application. Delivery with the time frame stated on the listing should be automatic 5 Stars etc. If it was compulsory wouldn't matter who left feedback first. To enforce it they could simply suspend accounts from buying or selling who have not left feedback within 21 days of a completion for instance, unless a dispute has been openedIt may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -
I only leave feedback (same comments every time) for the buyer if they have given me a feedback comment.
On a few occasions I have written a 'thank you' email if their feedback had a personal touch.
It would be a sad day if a buyer negs you for not giving them feedback within a certain time frame.0 -
How about another option on the poll along the lines of: I'd rather my seller packed and posted my item asap as well as answering any of my questions asap and in detail rather than spending their time messing about with feedback? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

I left feedback for 31 items last night, took me 45 seconds cutting and pasting. Not really a problem is it?It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -
Try 25000 a year and see how tedious and time consuming it would become on top of the excessive number of questions eBay members have. Several thousand items sold on Amazon this year and less than a dozen messages from customers. At least 600 messages on eBay in the last 6 months alone (none of which are people asking for feedback before it's said!).
I can answer your questions or I can leave you a pointless, generic comment on that basis you can click a button and pay for something you want.
Dont get me wrong the buyers who obsess over feedback should be entertained as it may mean they shop on eBay for their feedback points rather than shopping around on price which is good for eBay sellers but as for the general view of buyer feedback, who cares? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

I agree with this. When a buyer leaves me feedback, I know he's happy with his item. When I buy something I always expect to leave fb first - then the seller knows I'm happy.
Maybe I've been lucky so far, but have only very recently come up against a buyer who is 'problematic' - at the moment I've no idea what sort of fb to leave him - if his purchase eventually goes through. :mad:0 -

Oh no, you're one of those buyers who leave a pointless message in the payment section They're such time wasters for sellers. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
