New PSU, no power

Further to the above; ive put the new graphics card in now and when i power on the fans spin, the cd drive whirs, and the usb peripherals (speakers, headphones etc) light up as though being powered on but still no beeps or display
it feels like everything is ready and wants to work but theres just a little something stopping it (probably something stupid and obvious that i've missed)0 -
Does your new graphics card need its own power supply - is there a socket on it? If that's okay then try powering up using your original PSU and see if everything works. If so, maybe you have been supplied another faulty PSU.0

I had a very similar issue only a few weeks ago, I actually got a different PSU from another supply and it worked fine. Slight problems with a PSU can cause all sorts of weird issues.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
