unfortunately not, im a one-pc kinda guyGeoffX wrote:There's a checklist at Tom's hardware of things to check:

I've had a look through that and tried various combinations of plugging stuff/unplugging stuff. The only combo i'm not sure i tried was plugging in the 4 pin but not the 24 pin connectors, would that be worth testing? (im on the pc in question now with the old PSU installed so cant easily just swap stuff about) I tried various numbers and placement of RAM sticks but no difference0 -
Do you have access to a PSU tester? Any decent PC repair shop should be able to check it for you-it take seconds. Better than sending a good one back and incurring a restocking charge. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

im back with more problems with my computer i hope you guys can help me with
I got a replacement PSU and hooked it all up but when i go to power on the light on the front of the case turns on and the fans start up but after a few seconds the system/case fan stops spinning. The PSU and processor fan keep spinning but nothing else happens, no beeps, no display
Any ideas this time around?0 -
Hi Alex,
This sounds like the problem I had when I 'upgraded' my PSU to a fanless high efficiency one. The topic is covered fully in this forum:

This may not be your problem but it's a possibility.

What wattage is the old psu? have you determined it isn't high enough to run the new graphics card.
You will have spent close to the price of a new machine at this rate!!

I havent got the new graphics card in, its the low powered one that came with the machine originally. The only thing i have tried to change for the moment is the power supply but the new graphics card says it needs a minimum of 500w, my current one is only 350w0
