ebay selling advice sought

Hello all
First time in here, I am currently in debt trying to get out and also considering selling house and downsizing to clear debts.
So either way a good clear out is needed.
I have bought and sold a few items on eBay but nothing serious, so looking for advice on selling clothing mainly.
We DW and I are hoarders, so have lots of outgrown and even never worn items.
What is the best way to sell, single items, job lots?
Is accepting paypal essential to getting bids?
I assume most items will go for low values, and how do you work out postage these days with size and weight?
It seems so much like hard work for a small return. Are there listing programs and templates to just fill in so they all go on at once. Thinking 10 day listing on Thurs. to finish on a Sun.
Also want to utilise penny listing days etc.
Sorry it's so long. So many questions.
Thanks in advance. All help and advice gratefully received.

Personally - paypal is a must option
Lots of good clear photographs if you want to push the price up.
Don't pay ebay all those extra 12p's to put extra photos on - shove them on a photo hosting site like photobucket.com and insert them in your text for free - as many as you want (nice huge piccies so people can see what they are buying)
Good luck0 -
Sorry - pressed to submit by mistake:rotfl:and hadn't finished typing
Download turbo lister from ebay - it's free and that way you can get all the ad's ready offline and upload them all at once.
Personally, I don't find a ten day listing helps (buy hey I'm no expert) - I think if people want something they will buy it as and when (although I do find auctions that end on the last day of the month or just before (payday:T) seem to get slightly better prices because people have money at that time of the month - daft but true.0 -

For help on postage fees, go to https://www.royalmail.co.uk and order a postage calcualtor. I also use digital scales to weigh my items. Then I know exactly what to charge for them.
I tend to try clothes in single lots first, then if they don't sell put them into a job lot.

Hi
Just select the HTML tag option in photobucket (you get three options
URL
HTML
IMG
Choose HTML, copy and paste it into you ebay text......Remember LOADS OF CLEAR PICS
Clothing with poor photographs goes for peanuts.0 -
As Durham girl say - work the postage out before listing! Don't lose out on miscalculated postage and remember to add some on for packaging (it all adds up)
Make sure you get proof of postage or send recorded (if the buyer pays for it).
Postage can be bought online to save time at post office and you can also print off the proof of postage forms filled in with the details of where you sent the item ready for the post office to just stamp and sign (all saves time and time is money!)0 -

I use Turbo Lister to use multiple Photobucket-hosted pics, then just click the Insert Photo box and fill in the urls on the form.Cumbrian_Male wrote:Great tip as I have a photobucket account.

It's quite possible to sell without Paypal, but it does help.
It's worth paying the extra 15p for Gallery pics when listing clothes. Without a gallery pic, they tend to sell for much less, if at all.0 -

If I can do it anyone can
It is reall easy & the advantage is that you can get all your listings ready early. Then, as soon as a 1p listing day is advertised you can upload them to Ebay on the 1p day.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
