RE freezing - most recipe books / websites will tell you if a meal is freezable. I usually have a supply of chilli, bolognese and soup in the freezer. I generally freeze in double portions too, so that when I defrost one for tea I can use the rest for lunch the next day. Tonight I'm making some pasta sauce cos I have onions and tomatoes that need using up. A useful website for meal planning based on fridge contents https://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com, cos you can search by what food needs using up.
Annoyingly going to have to go to the shop tonight as I have nothing for breakfast tomorrow - that's gonna totally ruin my NSD!:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner

mfOu1098, how about if everyone just puts their weight loss under there signature, as you say it will take over this thread else.
That's a great idea!
I'm really sorry everyone if I've sounded negative at all about the weight loss idea. I think it's superb and I have over a stone to lose myself. Maybe if we all picked one of the weight loss challenges to join so we are still doing it as a team or if anyone wants to start a weight loss challenge that runs at the same time as this to finish by Xmas 2012 then it would be great!
I'm really happy that you are all having so many great ideas not just about debt busting but also every aspect of your lives!:j I'm the same, now the debt isn't as overwhelming then I feel I can start to tackle other areas in my life that I'm not happy with too i.e. my weight, lack of boyfriend!

Ive just spent the last hour listing on ebay- I listed a load of nail varnishes including a Chanel one as they all sell pretty well. I have just cleared out my tshirt/cardy drawer and have a huge pile to list this afternoon- doing it on a 5 day so it ends on Sunday. I am about to list a dress that has been in my wardrobe unworn with the tags on since September. I am also listing at least 3 coats and 3 pairs of trainers. 2 identical. I think I need Shopaholics Anonymous *eyes 7 pairs of Uggs sheepishly (excuse the pun)* I also have a topshop (leather) handbag to list and a River Island (leather) handbag to list- they keep their value really well. I may also skank around and find the DS games the kids have strewn around the house and clearly dont care about and slip them on. I am on SUCH a mission! Feels GOODDDDDDDDD
I am happy to do whatever weight loss wise- I am happy to start a new thread if people want- as long as that doesnt step on the toes of the existing weight loss ones (ive seen people get "touchy" on the most innocous threads on this forum sometimes!!!Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Well done on your Ebay listings! I'm stuck on a new ebayer listing limit of 10 and asked some advise on that part of the forum and quite frankly got such a snooty unhelpful response that I've not even checked if I've had any further responses to my innocent question. Why do people have to judge and rub it in your face that they know more than you in that area?! I KNOW they probably know more than me otherwise I wouldn't be asking them the bloomin question!!!! It wasn't just one person either, and one was a forum volunteer. Get a grip people, I was only asking for help!!! If that had been my first post then I'm 100% sure I wouldn't have come back to the forum and would be stuck in my dark debt hole...
I know what you mean about treading on other people's toes about starting a weight loss challenge. I asked Tixy about this challenge before setting it up to make sure that it wouldn't upset anyone! I think it would be good if we all turned up to a current challenge, I'm sure there'll be a few starting in January!!!

I kind of meal plan. When I go shopping I have in my head what meals I want to make and buy the ingredients I need. Then I have a massive cooking session and cook meals that are freezable (chilli, stews, pasta sauces like bol, curries, HM pies) and portion them up. I make any leftover veg into soups, portion and freeze. I prep spuds and either oven-bake, mash or par-boil and freeze in portions. Only because I used to cook on a daily basis and by the end of the week, I was throwing away sprouting spuds, limp veg and meat that was past its best.
I don't do a day by day plan but I write a list on freezer door of what meals I have ready and each morning, before going to work, I get summat out to defrost. When I get home from work I know tea won't take long to heat up. This also prevents me from saying, "I'm hungry/can't be bothered to cook, lets get takeaway."
It works for me0
