Just did my snowball calculator, I'd put this off all week. It says my debt free date is September 2013 :-( so maybe I won't be debt free by Christmas 2012. HOWEVER I'm still feeling positive as I can still pay just over half off by Christmas 2012 :-)

Just on trying to sort out my PPI claims so hopefully the bank will hopefully be nice to me and that will help towards my debt.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the snowball calculator for telling you which debt to get rid off first but I think it can sometimes scare you with how long it will take to pay off. My DFD says something in 2013 on the snowball calculator but now it's up to me to reduce that by selling on fleabay/amazonia, reducing grocery bills etc. I like to think of myself in competition with the snowball calculator, I will beat it down that hill!!!!!

I agree - I love reducing the months I have left to pay - its really satisfying.

Well no debt busting from me today, i have wrote all debts in a note book and payments that need to be made have also wrote a list of the lowest debts that i want to clear first,so i can then pay the extra on the big debts once these are paid.. but on a good note i have done all the Christmas shopping apart from fresh stuff,i have had a mass clear out today and have loads to put on flea bay,but would it be best to wait till after Christmas?
just received £20 from survey net work into pay pal will wait till the eBay items ends tomorrow and payments in before i cash it out.

Ps Husband has just said he pay mother in law this week for looking after child, thats up another £80.00. Can't wait till payday to hopefully clear one credit card off! Been a very lucky girl these past few days. Waiting for £120.00 to come back, and if I'm very lucky get made permanent tomorrow and may eek a pay increase.

Please don't think I'm being smarmy cos usually when my life goes this right some mini disaster occurs. i.e. getting caught in tsunami, people dropping dead around me (up to 3 year in 5 years!) car crashes, or knowing my luck someone will tell me go forth and multiply tomorrow.

I've had another bit of a lightbulb moment....when I started this, I only included debts I thought I could do something about (so I didn't include my student loan), or the two outstanding debts that we have as a house (long story short British Gas messed up and left us with a huge bill).

For whatever reason, I've had another think about shifting this debt and if my maths is correct I'd only need to shift £101.68 per day. That's a pretty big amount, but equally, it doesn't sound that much if you think about the ways I could make extra money. So, with that in mind, I'm changing how much I'm going to pay off.

    My new starting total is......£38028.13

Given my new LBM, I've paid an extra £40 off and had already paid some off that total earlier in the month, so my new totals are.....

    #30 £73.59/£38028.13

I've set all my spreadsheets up now, so this is all set in stone. Now I've just got to shift it!

    p.s. Sorry for being a pain mf0u1098!
Deleting everything to make sure MoneySupermarket don't get any of my personal details to sell to following Martin's sell out move :money:
