Ohhh, good idea - there's a few things I've been putting off and a couple of months off before starting saving for a house would be great for me too!

Think I'll steal that idea - just like I'll steal victory! ;)

YOU STOLE MY IDEA!!!! This is going to be the Wacky Races... who's Mutley??? :rotfl:

Had my first warm shower in my new place this evening, the heating hasn't been coming on when it's meant to eep! Still using my old handwash pump bottle for my shower gel, very MSE as I use much, much less and even better as means the OH doesn't use gallons when he visits =)

Lunch is ready in the fridge for tomorrow and I'm in bed early for once. Still feeling a bit sad about taking the money out of Lloyds though. Did you all take your lunches to work today? For those that already do, did you manage to make any healthy cutbacks i.e. fruit instead of cake?

I've just started with pump bottle for bubble bath and can't believe how much less I use! Can't wait for the next handwash to run out so I can start using it for shower gel.

As for lunch, I have taken mine so far, but got a work christmas lunch on thursday, that I'd rather not go to, but I feel like I really should. I'm missing the christmas party, so I's feel proper scrooge to not do the lunch. Not doing very well on the healthy options tho, I made cheesecake in lieu of gifts for people in work. Much cheaper and much more appreciated methinks.

Flip me you're early DG. I feel like I'm the only one in the world up at the moment. Finishing off some freelance work before I go to actual work. It'll all pay off in the long run though. You'll soon be in to double figures percent wise, keep it up!
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

  • Have a great day everyone!

I've been invited to a Champagne Sunday (obviously on Sunday) now I don't drink (triggers Asthma) so wouldn't normally go but this is one of my closest friends who's hosting the day....the thing is I can't afford to take a bottle of Champagne (they certainly wouldn't like cheap bottles) so what can I take with me? I was thinking about a tin of chocolates or maybe some Stollen or something - what would you do?

If I want to clear all my debt next year I would need to pay about £1400 per month - which if I stayed this busy we would do but my dh is really fed up with never having any enjoyment so I'm torn, I thinking that I will make the payment a minimum of £1000 per month and then see how I can add to that. I'm just struggling because I really want to complete this challenge so we can start getting on with the rest of our lives...any thoughts?

    Hi sharronej,

I suppose it depends on any many people are going to be there, if there's only a few my first thought would be to take some strawberries (they're supposed to compliment champagne - right?), and taking it a step up from there you could always dip them in melted chocolate.

If there's going to be a lot of people there then I think I'd just take a either non-alcoholic alternative such as Schoeler. Or for the people who don't like champagne, Asti Spumante. :)
