Grr my sister has paid me £50 back, but I owe her £50 towards her Next table as her birthday present, so that cancels out.

Anyone know how we find out how much our student loan is currently? I don't even know if they have the correct address for me anymore

Well I have worked it all out officially and put it on my signature!!
It looks less than what I thought cos I made a motivational decision to leave my student loan off it!!!
I am now thinking of crafty type makes I could do to sell on, I enjoy finding tat and 'doing it up' but not sure other people would appreciate my creations!!!
Is anyone else stopping smoking too?
    xx

Hi lulalolly, I've just updated your signature with your new reduced total! :j

I agree Loubie with what you're saying about the student loan as always being at the back of your mind  but for me I'd rather save up for a house deposit than pay it back to be honest. So in this way, I don't really think of it as debt. Once I've got a house then I'll join the MFW team and only then will I look at tackling my student loan. :j

mf0u1098: Hope your best friend is OK. :( It's great you're there to support...

jakes-mum: Best of luck with your DH's job hunt! Sounds like you've got a good plan going though. :)

Have been obsessively checking my balance - as if money can miraculously appear if I check it every hour. :o

Really hoping to reduce the debt by £2011 at the end of this year for a kick-start (I know... stupid number...) This is probably a bit too ambitious, but will try my best. :)

Have managed to put away some money from my salary at the end of last month, but not sure if I'll be able to stay off touching it by the end of this month - considering I want to pay credit card bill in full this month.

I'd just ring up the Student Loans Company and they should be able to help you. I get a statement every year usually about June time xxx

Thanks everyone, they're open until 8pm so I think I'll call them up. No idea what details I have for it anymore either or what details I gave them. I've just found that they have an online account system for keeping an eye on it, would be nice to do that. Not going to pay it off any quicker, but still nice to see the amount decrease each month.

  • It's so complicated! I'm going to see if I can check my loan out online and report back.

I found out I can view my mortgage online and its updated regularly - so that's another obsession of mine! :p

mf0u1098 - hope you get on ok today and that your friend copes :( x

    Hi all,

Can you add me to the list please? I've just worked out that I have £15,162.50 outstanding!! That's not including the student loan which is currently around £17,000. All of the debt has been accumulated whilst at uni / in low income jobs after leaving uni. I'm nearly 28 and have never experienced anything but being in debt and trying to make the repayments but that's all about to change! Determined to make a massive dint in my debt though!
Deleting everything to make sure MoneySupermarket don't get any of my personal details to sell to following Martin's sell out move :money:
