I have a huge amount of debt, of course I would love it to be clear by next Christmas but think that might be just about impossible. You never know though. I would be happy with getting it under £10k. Maybe you could put me down for £14k cleared by next Christmas? Please?

Tried and failed dismally at the £11 in 11 challenge, but have started afresh and 2012 is the year I will break the monster's back:)
Hi banwa and welcome to the team. I'll put your name and amount of £14k on the 2nd post.

Oh and you don't need to hide your signature as I had £43k at my highest plus my £23k student loan and £47k in mortgage. As I said to another lovely poster, there is no shame on this thread just dedication and courage!

Thank you, I'm sorry too. Just have to be strong for my best friend. It's this afternoon so I thought I'd get my MSE hit of the day (I'm addicted..!) first thing so I feel that I've still thought about getting rid of my debt today. Today is a stark reminder than you never know what is around the corner so you always need to do what is important to you now and not leave it till tomorrow, hence my debt busting xxx

    Helloooooo,

Well if any of you are on the sealed Pot Challenge thread, you'll know about my DH being made redundant on tuesday :( well I have rang my lovely Mortgage people and they have given me a 2 month mortgage break saving me £784 a month and the lovely man on the phone kept telling me if we were still having problems in january just to ring and they would extend it for a third month :) This is the second time I have had to take a break and they are just so darned nice about it and always sound quite apologetic that my payments would go up afterwards to cover the interest :rotfl:

Well anyway DH is off to his agency today as they have said they have a job going that runs till christmas and want him to go in and see what its all about :T another agency also has 2 jobs on their books that start next month (I think) so what i have said to DH is we will put any oney he earns into the mortgage bank account to dig it out of the overdraft and give us a buffer for any further periods of unemployment :j

I know im adding to my mortgage but once im DF I will be mooching over to the MFW board and tackling that so its short term loss for long term gain :T

Good luck to your hubby Jakes Mum!

Urgh forgot about my student loan, that's another 16k. I've never earnt enough in my job to start making at impact on it :( Now i'm all depressed again! Still, like people are saying it's not really an important debt!

Good luck (if you can call it that!) with the funeral today. :A

  • Well I have worked it all out officially and put it on my signature!!
It looks less than what I thought cos I made a motivational decision to leave my student loan off it!!!
I am now thinking of crafty type makes I could do to sell on, I enjoy finding tat and 'doing it up' but not sure other people would appreciate my creations!!!
Is anyone else stopping smoking too?
    xx
